Excellent product

After changing my car I found my fm transmitter didn't work as well as in my old car. Not having enough cash left to upgrade the stereo I started looking at what other options there were and eventually went for the cassette adaptor mainly because it was the cheapest. There were cheaper versions but decided to go for the Sony as it had better reviews and would probably be better built.
I have to say it exceded all my expectations. The unit is solid and the sound quality is excellent being far better than my fm transmitter and not that far off what I got using a direct line in on a hire car a couple of weeks ago.
If you've got an older stereo with a tape I thoroughly recommend this unit. As a simple, effective and very cheap way of getting your mp3 player connected to your car I don't think it can be bettered

There are no bad points about this item I have liked sony as a manufacture for a while but this item just
rekindles that love for them. The bass is punchy and lasting and the high end frequencies are just as good are robust the connectors are gold plated which is good because I am a DJ and like to have the best sound out of my headphones. They are quite pricey but that isn't a problem for the build quality that you pay for they are quite weighty but this also makes you think about that beautiful build quality

Not compatible with iTouch/iPhone 3G

I bought this product to use with my new iTouch 64gb 3G which has full Bluetooth functionality. These phone were supposed to work with it, and indeed I can listen to audio. What is missing is any volume control capabilities, even manually from the iTouch, so you are stuck with whatever level Sony decided to set - typically way too loud.
These are definitely a waste of money for Apple products and neither Apple or Sony seem to want to respond to requests for help - I would imagine at some stage Sony will have to come out with a software upgrade (or Apple).

Cheap excuse for a PSP battery

Avoid all battery's in this packaging at all costs, will only last an hour off charge, I bought one and it got replaced twice each new battery giving the same poor results.

Great for both Standard Definition and HD

I began using these tapes when I bought my first Sony digital camcorder 10 years ago, and have taken many hundreds of hours of excellent footage with them. I have never had any reason to change. Indeed - one reason in particular for not changing is that Sony use a different (wet) tape lubricant than other brands of tape, and so you should always stick to Sony tapes if you start using them, or the dry lubricant used on other tapes will cause problems with clogging. The same applies if you start using dry lubricant tapes - in that case, avoid Sony tapes.

When I moved to HD two years ago (Canon HV20), I started using the far more expensive Sony HD tapes exclusively, and they performed extremely well. However, there is a lot of misinformation put out that only specialist HD tapes can be used successfully with an HD camcorder. Let me make it clear here and now that *this is not the case*. I have used Sony Premium MiniDV tapes (at half the price of the HD variants) with my Canon HV20 with perfect results, and no drop-outs to date. For this reason I almost always use these, and only switch the the HD variety when I am taking mission critical footage. There is no difference in storage capacity between the HD and standard Premium tapes, and a lot of people don't realise this. The difference is in the quality of the coating, and the standard tapes are already so good, the HD varient are really overkill.

So whether you're shooting standard definition or even HD footage (as long as it's not a very important occasion like a wedding) these tapes are truly exceptional in both performance and reliability. Thoroughly recommended.

Sony MDR -NC40 Headphones

The headphones arrived within 48hours and were well packaged. The headphones are in a very nice case ideal for also holding my Sony walkman.
The sound quality is excellent and they had a facility to attach them to your clothing so that the wires do not hang down.
My only critisism is that I am a very small lady and I have had to pad the top because the ear pads are quite low. Not a problem to any normal sized person.

not consistent

I had to discard 50% of these discs because they would not record. Having bought Sony because I thought they would be reliable this was particularly disappointing. The Tesco ones are loads better and much cheaper.

Easy to use

My daughter loves these and they go well with her MP3 player. Colour suits her (pink) and they seem to be durable. Good sound.

Purchased this for my dad to go along with his new compact Sony cybershot. It has room for spare batteries and memory card in one compartment and the camera in another. It's sturdy, lightweight and genuine Sony without being too expensive.

Don't replace your ipod phones with these

I just bought these to replace my apple ear phones that came with my ipod. They are shockingly bad in comparison. Very tinny sound, and nothing like the warm and clear tone from my existing phones. I'm now off to the apple shop for some quality phones, and I'll only be paying £9 more- money well spent.

DVD Recorder Life Extended

After buying my first dvd recorder I was looking forward to using it but within the first year it started unformatting +rw discs.I used several brands and I was unsure why it was doing that.I found that the discs would playback on the computer but could no longer be reformatted on the dvd recorder or computer.I lost some programmes trying to reformat before trying them on computer.I decided to contact seller and I had dvd recorder booked in for repair whilst still in warranty.After getting it back it started unformatting discs again.I was not goiung to spend money on having it looked at again so I decided I would just use +r discs for transferring vhs material.It was puzzling that +r discs seemed to work fine but not +rw discs.I reverted to my vcr for recording and about 18 months later I decided I would give +rw discs one more chance.I bought sony +rw discs to match the sony +r discs that were fine and I have had no trouble with them since December 2009.I am writing a review on the second pack of sony +rw discs I purchased from amazon after the first pack was successful too.Incidently after purchasing a big pack of sony +r discs I lost one to a formatting issue but I had used over 20 +r discs successfully.The success of the +rw discs has certainly extended the life of my dvd recorder.The only problem with the +rw discs is that you can only record one hour in the highest quality mode and because LCD televisions are very poor for standard video pictures anything less than XP or highest quality is unwatchable on playback.That is why I prefer to continue using a CRT TV unless I can use HD on the LCD.

Better than even NWZS545

I got this walkman for my birthday last year. It was tiny, but everything about it was great. Fit nicely into my tiniest shorts pockets. Sound quality was superb, even for the FM radio.

The headphones lasted me a good 6 months, before the cable came out of the connector. The headphones, however, are certainly better than the Sennheiser MX90VC and the Sony MDR-E818LP headphones, and amazingly better than the untraceable ones I have acquired with my new Sony NWZS545.

Its a shame my walkman was stolen a few months ago. I loved it dearly and now know it was a lot better than my new Sony NWZS545, except for the memory space. Its smaller, easy to manage and tug away in pockets and bags.
