Good camera,bad customer support from sony

Good enough simple camera, bought this as a present and quite happy with camera for picture quality, battery life, display screen.
Unfortunately the flash stopped working 364 days after being bought, and Sony were a nightmare to deal with, wouldn't honour the guarantee because the camera had to be in their hands before the guarantee expiry date!
So good enough camera but Sony awful to deal with if anything goes wrong.

It is not really good enough

I also own a Sony DSC-H2 so when I needed a small pocket-size camera to take to function, to put in a suit pocket perhaps, I obviously thought the DSC-S730 would be as good as it larger brother. It isn't. Indoors the flash is not powerful enough to take photograph more than a few feet(Metre) away and because of how long it takes to do that the result is often blurred. Outdoor the zoom is of course next to useless and my results in poorer light has been very bad. Its not quick either, it seem to take an age to do anything and as previously stated it is very easy to end up with camera shake. I have given this a very fair trial over a period of a year and really it has failed almost every test.
I am now looking for a small camera that think bigs but still cost under £100.

Nice - but not really suitable for all W series cases

This is a lovely Sony case - it looks good, and had it not been too big for my camera I'd have been really pleased with it. I've got a W180 cybershot and unfortunately it was just too roomy - the camera could do a lot of shoogling about inside. The packaging details exactly what W series cameras it's appropriate for so I'd check that out before buying it.

An amazing camera for beginners and mediem level photographer's alike

I went out to by my 1st DSLR and I came across this one it was a average price for a beginners price, it enough had more than enough Mega pixals for most people, and the view screen tilts to make life easier if your using it. Another reason I bought it is you can get some cheaper lens by other company's, so I woundn't end up having to pay to much money because I didn't have any.
The main point is I'm not dissapointed with this camera, it's just brilliant, the range is good, it handle's well, it's not to heavy and feels really nice when I hold (and I don't want to put it down after holding it for 2 seconds). The buttons are in in really good places and I can't complain at all about and would gladly go for this again if I had to buy another one. This is perfect for people getting there 1st DSLR and for just as perfect for beginner's and medium level photographer's as well.
A brilliant buy and amust have.

Sony camcorder microphone

The microphone isn't very exciting, but it's the cheapest you can get for the Sony Active Interface Shoe. Moral of the story: don't buy Sony.

Ultra-portable, ultra-chic, ultra-hungry

The DSC-T7 is elegant and stylish. It fits unobtrusively into a suit pocket, you barely notice its presence.

The battery life is dreadful. I deep charged the battery for 6 hours before use. I took 140 shots in an afternoon, very few of them required flash. Then I attempted to transfer the contents over to my computer. Result? Dead battery and incomplete transfer.

The image quality in low light is dreadful. Auto-focus is slow and inaccurate. Even some pictures in good light come out grainy.

Then again, I'm using the camera in fully automatic mode. Perhaps I should read the manual to get the best results.

It's just that I had a Canon IXUS 400 before the Sony - and that was stunning in default mode. Low light conditions didn't upset it and the richness of tone captured with my old (unfortunately stolen, uninsured) camera was far superior to anything I've ever got on the DSC-T7.

I will dive into the manual and see if that makes a difference. Given that my DSC-T7 was a present, I think I shall stick with it and try to squeeze the best out of it.

I still love it because it's with me most of the time. Most camera get left behind - the DSC-T7 is slim and light enough to carry around wth you all the time.

I ordered this item from Amazon on Friday on the Super Saver FREE Delivery option, and lo and behold it arrived this morning. The next day! I'm amazed and chuffed to bits!

Anyway, the case is a lovely soft leather and it comes with a strap. There is no place on the case for the strap so it appears as though it was made to go on the camera.

The interior of the case is also leather, but it is a nice soft suede, that will keep your camera scratch free.

I would recommend this item. It fits my new Sony W55 Camera perfectly. Had a tough time deciding between the pink and the green though , but went for the gree instead. It is just as how it is shown in the picture. It is perfect.

Well done amazon for such speedy delivery.

do not believe manufacturer's description

The descrition states that the package includes a du adaptor and storage case. Neither of these items is included which renders the duo stick useless if you were hoping to use it with any product that uses a standard sized memory stick. I am not impressed.

Sony W170 Case

Nice looking quality case,perfect for my wifes handbag,it is a quality product the protects as well as looks good.
I think a case is very important as it stops the LCd screen from being scratched and from knocks. Some cases add a lot of size which negates the compact size of the camera this case does not.

Nearly Excellent

I bought this some while ago, and although I have experienced one problem (saving an 83MB Word file on a Win 2000 Pro PC), it is overall quick to write and read, especially on my Win XP Pro laptop. Only slight problem is the plastic cover has a slight crack in it; other than that well worth the money, though it only gives you 480MB memory and not 512MB

Sony Camera Memorystick Produo

I use these cards with my Sony Ericsson W200i and K770i camera/walkman phones. The 2GB size allows more than enough music tracks to be stored along with enabling the phones' sound recorder, camera and video functions to be used in their high resolution modes (which means I no longer need to carry a camera for unplanned impromptu snaps).

The cards are tiny, reliable and robust (as I'd expect of Sony) and allow you to use and enjoy all of your phones' functions to their full potential.

A highly recommended purchase.

Sony Cyber-Shot

Ordered on a Friday, delivered the next day. The camera was just as I ordered, takes very good pictures, easy to use, large LCD (for those of us who are getting failing eye sight due to our age !!) Bought it for the wife for her Birthday and she gets on very well with it. I personally would find it a bit of a pain with no view finder, and if I was to use it a lot would recommend to get a spare battery, as with a lot of Sony products they have their own perculiar battery that you have to take out and charge making the camera usless until the battery is charged.
Only my personal view, but an excellent product, well suited for handbag or pocket.
Good buy all round.

Great Camera! Lives up to all expectations!

The Sony DSC-N2 is an excellent camera overall. There many reasons why I have given this camera a 5 star rating including:

Image Quality: The image quality is superb with max 10 million pixels. You can use it indoors or outdoors and all images come out like masterpieces.

Screen: The camera has a massive 3" screen which is also a touchscreen. Viewing photos on this high quality screen is a pleasure. The 3"/touchscreen also make this camera unique in a competitive market. The virtual buttons are big and clear and the layout is user-friendly.

Overall this camera is excellent value for money and you will not regret buying it. Its not the slimmest camera but is very well designed and built. It is truly special and has the WOW factor.
