Amazing !!

I put a lot of research before buying a camera as anyone would do and honestly, this range of cameras has mixed reviews. I loved the style and design of this camera as soon as I saw it however, I read the reviews at zdnet which, for me, provides the most accurate reviews. According to them T100 is the best out of T200 and T300 with T300 having major picture quality issues. Hence, I decided to go for T200 because it had significant advantages over T100 and T300.

1) The Look- From the photos I was amazed and when I saw it in real I fell in love. It looks amazing and makes all other digital cameras look like toys !!

2) Picture Quality- The most important feature ! Well, I have been using this camera for over a month and I have really taken LOTS of photos. All of them were amazing and not even one had problem. Abt the complaints of Red-eye brightness etc problems mentioned in another reviews-- well there are numerous functions provided to modify the images taken. So if at all by some mishap ur image comes out improper then u can simply modify it within the cam. Trust me its great in that respect too.

3) Interface & Control- The 3.5" display looks fantastic and the usage is very easy. I browsed through the manual for 30 mins max. and I was able to get all the functionality properly. The touch screen makes this camera feel even more advanced.

For me 8.1 Megapixels are more than enough for mindblowing pictures for normal/personal use. I love the camera- its compact, looks great and takes amazing pictures !! Want anything else from a digital camera ??

Wrong specification

Top of page for this item says this battery is 1360mAh, it is not.
True capacity for NP-FP50 is half of that, 680mAh, as printed on the package.
In the technical specfications on the Amazon website it actually quotes the true capacity as 680mAh.
I suspect Amazon have made a mistake, quoting two different capacities, watch out for a correction later
You do not get a lot of battery capacity for your money

frustrating problem

i am so glad i looked at the reviews about this camera as now i dont feel so mad. had the camera end of october and was so dissappointed with the photos it was taking,these were dark, problems with the flash, blurry, i tried all the settings and could not understand why. i had a cybershot for the previous 5 years, it was simple and took great photos. i have now sent it in for repair and hope this will resolve the problem.

Handy item that fits in your pocket

It does exactly what it is meant to, it holds up to 8 memory sticks neatly and firmly without risk of damaging them whilst in transit.

Superb

I started to get a little disappointed when I opened the box to see it. It is tiny. I knew the picture was not to scale but Gorden Bennett it's small.

Because of this, I thought it was going to be rubbish, but when I put it into my camcorder and turned it on, wooosh! Bright light! It works like a dream.

There are a lot more lights that cost a lot more, but this one does just the job! So, the old saying is true; size doesn't matter.

Good Quality

Good quality case, great design , great colour, durable with soft interior to protect your camera. my camera a sony cybershot fits snugly safe and sound.

Does just the job

If you do have a compatible camera then this is a great microphone. Originally I purchased the Handycam gun mic, but was really disappointed with the sound quality. However after reading reviews on US Amazon I decided to risk buying this mic.

I wasn't disappointed at all. The mic is really easy to use and the sound quality is great. The mic is a bit big and bulky and you have to be careful about noise from clothing etc, but if you can control these factors then it's great. It picks up sound from a reasonably wide area so I intend to use it more as an off-camera microphone, rather than a lapel mic. This way I get sound closer to the action and without any camera noise.

The range is good and the receiver has a very handy earphone socket to monitor the sound coming from the mic. This means you can be aware of any sound issues at the time, rather than when it's too late.

I would prefer if Sony allowed third party microphones to be used with their cameras, but actually consumer grade cameras very rarely do. So considering this is the path I've gone down I'm delighted that they've produced this great mic.

Ok but certainly not five stars.

This lens is not as powerful as you might expect. I have a HDR-SR12E camcorder with a 12x optical zoom. This lens in effect makes it a 13.7x optical zoom, so don't expect any wow factor. But if you're filming something that's just that little bit too far away then this will come in handy. One good thing is that it screws in very easily and securely to the camcorder and it's weight doesn't affect the feel of the camcorder too much.

Fits like a glove

it’s really good...and it’s true what they say ’good things come in small packages’, so little yet so powerful ’simple yet effective’...its great because you can use it from psp’s to sony digital cameras to sony erricson phones, and sinces it’s 1gb you can store mounts of stuff...really worth it and it fits in the device like a glove...chow

P.S. it would be cool if it worked on non-sony devices...amongst that, its cool

Got this as a pressie !!!!
I had an earlier model which wasnt great ... but so far I like this camera .
It looks fab - love the pink but the other colours cool too.
Small , lightweight - very now.
Simple to use and takes quality pictures ... can't really fault it if all youre wanting is a quality 'point and shoot' camera that doesnt break the bank !!!!
Basically I love my new toy !!! Bet this is going to be very popular .

Not the best option for better sound.

I purchased this microphone hoping to get better sound, but was really disappointed. The sound quality is barely any different than that on the camera and under some conditions worse. I've now discovered reviews on the US Amazon site, which back this up. However there is hope if you want a good microphone for your Handycam. The Sony Bluetooth wireless microphone (ECM-HW1) is great and perfect for picking up sound at a distance (as long as you avoid sounds from movement of the mic). This opinion is also backed up by reviews on the US Amazon site.

In conclusion...don't try and get a bargain with this microphone, go straight for the slightly more expensive Bluetooth wireless mic.

Sony HVL-IRM Infra red night shot light

This is an excellent item & well worth the price. I use it in total darkness for paranormal research & the results are fantastic.
