Cannot believe the cheap price

Having read all the previous customer reviews I was anxious about purchasing this Sony card.However I noticed it cost £44.99 in Argos and with Unique-estore offering it for £6.49 + P&P I thought 'what the heck'.I ordered it on Wed evening and it was delivered Friday am.Excellent quick service.It is the black Sony card, it looks to be genuine amd more to the point it works very well with my Sony Cybershot camera.I have already downloaded my first photos to the computer.I am more than pleased!!

Works well but lacks one potentially importat thing...

The memory stick itself works well and has been storing 8 megapixel pictures on my Sony DSC-N1 camera for a few weeks now. However, the picture shown is not entirely accurate. This stick does not come with a Memory Stick adaptor. This means that I cannot put it into the card reader in my laptop untill I spend a few more pounds for the adaptor.
It works well, but be warned, you may need to spend a few more pounds.

Small & Perfectly Formed

Was looking for a relatively inexpensive and easy to use product for use on holiday etc. So plumped for the Sony Handycam. It does what is syas - extremely easy to use and pick up, first class recoding quality (although can be noisy - shot a small clip on a nice spring day in Inverness with a slight breeze and watching playback on TV it sounds like it was blowing a gale!!).
My only criticism would be with the software supplied and instruction manual. I am not illiterate when it comes to computers but 3 months down the line, I still cannot get the Handycam to link to my pc and I have no idea how on earth one goes about editing footage with the software provided.

Overpriced, compared to similar Sony models.

I don't understand this model. I bought the Sony DCR-SR62 model, which is basically the same as this one (30Gb hard disc, touch-screen display, 25x optical zoom, etc) but it has a 1Mp resolution.

Why is this DCR-SR35E a poorer model, but more expensive ?!

Shop around. You can find better, and will appreciate going for a camcorder with a better resolution than 800K.

Other than that, they're excellent camcorders, no regrets in my purchase.

No USB cable or software with this model

Accessories enclosed are: AC Adaptor, Rechargeable battery pack, and A/V connecting cable.

Page 9 of the Operating guide (Step 1: Checking Supplied Items) states that a USB cable, and also a CD-ROM""Handycam Application Software"") is supplied only with models DCR-HC53E/54E.

Genuine Memory Stick Duo Adaptor?

The item I bought looks and feels like the real thing, but the adaptor does not fit in either my Sony A100, or Sony Alpha DSLR. I would have returned it if I actually needed the adaptor.

Plug and play but average picture quality

I got sick of messing around with software and cables to convert video footage from my 10 year old Canon camcorder to DVD and started looking at the Sony HDD range. After dismissing the older SR32 and SR52, I started looking at the new SR35 and SR55. I chose the more expensive 55 because of it's larger CCD sensor.
The great thing about this camera is it records to industry standard mpeg2 format and transferring videos to my PC is now a case of plugging into a USB port and copying the files. The camera appears as a removable disk drive to Windows.
Unfortunately, I was a little dissapointed with the quality of images even when using the HQ recording mode. When recording in daylight things aren't too bad but in artificial and low light conditions, the quality of the images aren't too good. I wasn't expecting top end quality from this camera anyway, but was ultimately expecting better. I would say the quality is marginally better that that of videos from my old camcorder which have been converted through my digital TV adaptor.
Overall, I do like this camera for it's small size, low weight and plug and play capabilities. But if you are looking for high quality images, it's probably not a good choice.

Great Camcorder , Great Price.

I received the Sr10e from amazon a little over a week ago. The supplied accessories are very good.
The camcorder records well and to a high quality. It does have some small issues with focusing but only in the odd case.

Battery life , recoding in full hd with auto settings is 99 minutes with supplied battery. Battery charging is very quick with a full cycle in around 1 hour.

This works fine with imovie 08 and a 2.0ghz intel imac with 1gb ram (2gb+ is reccomended though)

I have not tried the supplied software as it is un necessary when using a mac.

The supplied dock is very good quality and is very easy to use.

Still photos are of average quality but that's to be expected!

All in all my first impressions are that this is an excellent camcorder at a great price!

Sony 8GB Memory Stick

I bought this item for £52.90, and i must say it let me down, on receiving the item i immediately used it on my computer, to discover that it was a 8GB card, it was a 4GB, but all of the packaging stated that the product was a 8GB card, this confused me, so i looked closer and notice that there was another piece of plastic stuck over the writing on the memory card itself, my thoughts were that this was a 4GB memory card which looked like a 8GB one, i contacted amazon and they have yet to reply to me, i have used amazon for some time now but this is the first time they have let me down, even though it may be the manufactorers fault, amazon should check that the products they put on sale are genuine and not faulty.

Best little bag in town

Superb in every way, a perfect mate for the Sony DCR HC22E camcorder that I have recently purchased. Plenty of neat little pockets and very secure in every way. I can also fit my Sony Cybershot digital camera in it as well. It is almost like Doctor Who’s Tardis it has that much room, yet it is small by comparison to other bags I have seen. A first class product.

THE PERFECT PARTNER.

Having just purchased a new Sony compact camcorder (DCR-SR range) I wanted to get a case that was not an obvious thief magnet and offered quality affordable protection. With the price difference so little between genuine Sony and independent case manufacturers I decided to go with the genuine article.
I have not had it long but it is well padded with a discrete small pocket, useful for a small battery or filter and the zips and clip seems good quality.
When fully closed the top is very well protected with the sides zipped shut and an additional flap over the top. It would have to be very wet indeed to ingress water into the fully closed case.
The only negative side I found, and this was TOTALLY my fault and no reflection on the product, was when I purchased a wide angle extension lens, it made the case a very tight fit, but I did get one of the physically biggest lenses!
All in all, a great little case.
Thoroughly Recommended.
