A must when using a tripod

This is a must when using a tripod. It cuts out that wobble and noise when you press the start/stop button or the fiddle when you want to zoom etc. The lead is long enough for you to stand well clear of the camera, or you can clip it onto the tripod panning handle for convenience.

The product works well and I would recommend it to anyone.

Sony's Secret

The Sony remote tripod arrived very quickly and is an excellent piece of kit. As a semi proffessional videographer it is ideal for my needs. Why do Sony make it so hard to find items like this - even when I asked their tech dept about remotes they only pointed me to their wired and remote handheld controllers. Only discovered this by chance.

Sony 8GB Memory Stick Micro M2 + Adaptor

I bought this for my Sony Ericsson mobile phone and I am really pleased with it, I have downloaded lots of music and taken many photo's and still have lots of memory left. The product decription states the memory stick comes with an adaptor but this was not included in the package I received. I did query the adaptor because I thought I may have been sent the wrong product but I was told Sony no longer provide an adaptor with the memory stick. The product description should be amended to say the adaptor is not included with the memory stick.

I was given a counterfeit battery!

I ordered, received, charged and tried to use this battery many years ago.

(Why is Amazon still wanting reviews for items either bought years ago or for those items that are no longer available?)

I even bought Sony's super duper battery charger to recharge this battery, though it mattered not a jot if the battery was charged with this charger or with the supplied charger. As no matter how many times I tried this battery in my Handycam, the camera would just turn immediately off!

So much so that when I telephoned Sony UK and spoke to one of their customer service staff, he advised me to immediately return it for a refund as there were literately millions of counterfeit Sony batteries flooding Europe from the far east.

Thankfully, this is no problem when shopping with Amazon but it is still very infuriating non the less as I would still like another battery, but as the saying goes;

once bitten yadda, yadda, yadda!

Genuine Product

Having had problems with another online retailer whilst trying to order a cheap spare battery for my Sony DSC-V1 and ending up with an unsuitable generic brand I was very pleased when the aAazon product turned out to be exactly what was advertised - a genuine Sony battery! And delivery was extremely quick too!

It's not what you think -

if you NEED the adapter and you've ordered this item, you're going to be VERY disappointed as this is the card ONLY! NO ADAPTER. Sending straight back! Why do they still present it as if it was both items?

i ordered something from HUGOS123 and they are waiting for a feedback to send the item out and they dont even tell me,i wanted my item before i went to holiday but they havent even send the item to me,how stupid is this?can you just believe that?they caused me too much problem.ive been waiting for my item to be delivered to me for weeks then they tell me that they havent even send the item and they need feedback.HUGOS123 said that the item that they sent out went missing.how do they know that it went missing?and how can it go missing if you send it to the right adress?HUGOS123 is complicated people.

Great Cam Poor Software

Not sure what the previous buyer was on about,I tend to not agree on a few points.

The editing software is not up to the job at all, but that is no problem there is lots of software on the market that can edit AVCHD.

I am just back from 3 weeks in Florida and used the HandyCam every day,and found the feature that takes pics when you smile a bonus and very good quality.

The HandyCam is a joy to carry,and on full HD will give you about 30 Hours of recording time,and high 70 mins battery life with the supplied NPFH 60 battery.

I was looking at buying the 520VE but to be honest for an extra £300 i think it isn't worth it.

The sound is superb with Dolby 5.1 as standard

Anyhow i think the best thing is to view the videos i shot on Youtube that may help you decide, type in mrj2k8 that is my username and check out the tests i have of the camcorder in action

Registration problems/-RW disk problems

The on-line registration process is a nightmare. After one hour I couldn't get to the end of it without the process dropping me out, so am still not registered. Sony have this stupid practice of, if you ask a question, they give you a range of answers that are so far away from the question that you wonder who thinks them all up. In addition the instructions say that you can add to RW disks. You can't. The screen doesn't give you the option, but you can reformat and start again.

1st time novice buyer

I was not sure what cam to buy and settled on this one because I didn't want to mess about downloading and burning DVD's. What a great choice I made, easy to use and the discs are watchabl;e on my DVD players. Really simple to use, even my wife can use it. I recommend it for any 1st time buyer of a camcorder

Superb results in the maldives

Bought this for a trip to the Maldives and the results are superb and the camera performed faultlessly. Still to find some decent editing software for the unusual AVCHD video format.

SONY memory stick

I think SONY memory stick of 64MB is good to use on my SONY digital camera
but I believe it is too expensive for its memory size. I wish it was 50% less than that.

Expensive Delivery

Paid 5 pound for delivery yet it was only sent 1st class costing the seller 25p. I would of understand if it was sent recorded. Goods as described though

OK except in low light

No problems at all with this product in good light. It does not capture good images on low light situations ie: Indoor disco situation. It has a nightlite feature but you lose all the colours.

Other minor gripe is the 30 minute limit on each dvd, I find I have spare dvds in my pockets and if at a time critical event like a wedding, am pre-occupied with watching it does not stop recording at a critical moment.

My old sony Hi8 picture is as good as this new product and Much Better in low light, plus a longer recording time. However, the mini DVD really is very convenient for storage and playing back your videos on DVD.

Buy Sony brand mini DVDs or you get an irritating message from Sony across the screen every time you switch on.
