Small and mighty
These speakers are great - ok they aren't hugely powerful, but for the size the quality is pretty good and they come in a cool little case. Really dinky and don't need their own power supply as they take power from the phone. FAB. Thanks.3

Review for Sony HT-IS100 - 5.1 ch - Home Cinema Upgrade kit - Black:
The size of the speakers is as described, the size of golf balls.
The ease of setting up this system makes it a must for non-tech types.
BUT, BE WARNED, the woofer control unit is very large and heavy (14kg). If you want this system because you are limited for space, the small speakers aew fantastic. The control center? Forget it. it is large. I looked long and hard to find information on the base unit, but there was now on any site visited.
I must say however, the quality is up to SONY's usual standard. And the multiple inputs are great.
GO FOR IT!

Good sounding micro Hifi
Bought as a gift for my Mother, she loves it! just what she wanted she can play her old cassette's. Good quality sound, very easy to use. Thought we might have to buy ariel for radio but worked very well with the one provided. Only one small problem, because we wanted to put the speakers away from the unit there wasn't enough speaker wire. Would recommend though very nice system!8

not for the faint- hearted
Sony SRSD211.CEK 2.1 35W PC SpeakersThe item is smart, all the lights come on - but unfortunatly this has been sold to a"muppet" ie me - who as usual needs clearer instructions. These instructions are for those bright creatures who have no problems what so-ever on the technical side of life, and are problem sniggering as I type, however it is a great product, smart to look at and I bet the sound is great, eventually9
Review for Sony STR-DA2400ESB 7.1 Channel AV Receiver in Black:
Once out of the box the amp is rather smart and slightly more compact but satisfyingly heavier than expected. The instruction manual is good and although it took me a while to set it up the effort was definitely worth it.
Initially the sound was rather bright and harsh but after a couple of weeks running in and tweaking it gave just the sort of performance I was after, powerful but controlled and surprisingly good with music as well as films.
I highly recommend it.

Superb Surround Sound
I'd been trying to source someone who had stock of this amp for a while and so when I saw Amazon had one at a decent price I jumped at the chance. (As an aside, why did Sony make it so difficult to buy one of their amps? Hardly anyone had any stock for months! I was very close to buying another brand but the fact the rest of my system is Sony made me persevere)Once out of the box the amp is rather smart and slightly more compact but satisfyingly heavier than expected. Sony CMT-EH45 DAB Micro System
Bought this to replace an 8 year old Sony CMT-CP100 Micro system whose CD player had packed up and I am certainly NOT disappointed. I'm using this in my living room and the sound quality is above expectation even in a largish room. I have a tape collection so wanted DAB, CD and Tape. Simple to set up and easy to use. I also bought a stereo cable to run my MP3 player through the Audio-In socket. The only slight problem with this is the volume needs to be turned up quite high. Apart from that I'm really impressed with the quality of the system and it's twenty quid cheaper from Amazon than the High Street retailers.11

nas-sc55 Giga Juke multi roomYes it
Yes its a great bit of kit takes looooads of cds took quite some time to put our collection in. Connected to the internet easy wireless but found it better wired if no title is found it soon was using net The reason marked down was the use of the key pad (remote control) for editing a bit long and sometimes tedious. Another point i found was the dab aerial is a bit flimsy not what i would call substantial, needed more so now that most radio station broadcastings are dab if not will be. The sound quality i found to be of a very good standard crystal clear even to the sub station something which as impressed us. Overall impression good but as they say could have done better12
Review for Sony ICF-SW12S Compact World Band Travel Radio:
What I really liked is that everything is manual, no annoying electronic features that take you 4 hours reading the manual. The sound quality is also very good for such a small device and certainly sufficent for world service, though probably not for someone who really wants to focus on music. I bought this for a studying holiday in Rome and it really served its purpose of allowing me to listen to the local radio and foreign stations, it now travels with me everywhere. The only negative point I can think of is that the noise of the alarm is very irritating but then perhaps its supposed to be.

Review for Sony ICF-SW12S Compact World Band Travel Radio:
Just what I was looking for
As I travel a lot and like to listen to world service I was looking for a small portable radio, with a built in alarm clock but which also received short wave. Thats easier said than done as radios seem to have gone out of fashion and everyone seems to sell gadgets with too many features. This radio fitted my requirements perfectly, its lightweight, tiny, folds in 2 so is more resistant to falling on the floor, has a little snooze light so you can check the time in the dark and gets excellent short wave reception. You don't even have to change the time as you tell it the time zone and the time adujsts automatically. What I really liked is that everything is manual, no annoying electronic features that take you 4 hours reading the manual. The sound quality is also very good for such a small device and certainly sufficent for world service, though probably not for someone who really wants to focus on music. Rediculously cute!!!
My friend recently bought the Sony MzE310s minidisc player and was thoroughly pleased with it, this has I'm affraid got me into minidisc fever and I can really see the advantages. The minidisc player works smoothly from the start no problems there really are no down sides to this product except maybe the lack of an in-line remote. I whole heartedly endorse this product.14
Review for Sony PSLX300USB USB Turntable:
However last year, I officially 'became old' when I concluded everything in the charts was utterly crap. So I started to look for 'new' music elsewhere.
My father had left an extensive record collection. So I dusted off the old Hi-Fi and put on some records (note the 30 year old Hi-Fi worked flawlessly). Not only did I like the music, I also curiously like the sound of vinyl. I'm an absolute audiophile and cannot stand imperfections, but for some reason I like records.
Eventually I questioned if they could sound better and also wanted to be able the play some the music in the car. The Sony PS-LX300USB appealed as it met my requirements, black, full size, automatic and future proof (it has a line out as well as phono. Some modern AV amps don't have phono inputs). The USB feature was an excellent bonus.
I received it in excellent time, considering it came from Germany. I had to put the turntable in and connect the drive belt, but this was quick and easy. I connected to the phono input as my amp has one and the instructions recommend it if you have one. I then played my first record, it was great from the outset, all I had to do was push the start button and it done the rest (I don't like placing the arm manually) and the sound. I could not believe the difference, I was hearing sounds I'd never heard before, the stereo is more defined and there was dramatic reduction in popping and cracking. You can easily forget you're listening to a record, even mono records are improved, they seem less flat. The player emits no hum, if the needle is off the record the speakers are silent. When the record finishes it returns the arm to its rest position and powers down.
I have only just tried the USB feature, so I can't comment too much on the software. It was easy to set up and I had no problems under Vista. The instructions are easy to follow. The software is easy to use, it walks you through the procedure step by step. It then detects the different tracks, which it asks you name. It then can auto clean up (reduce popping etc.) and level the volume. I allowed this and it definitely removed some obvious pops from the original. The software looks like it can do a lot more, but I've not had the time to play with it yet. The software can burn it to CD but I done it through iTunes as it had played the finished wav files by default.
I'm certainly not an expert in the sound of vinyl but I am very pleased with this Sony turntable and thoroughly recommend it.

Review for Sony PSLX300USB USB Turntable:
Absolutely Superb
When my parents separated my father left us his old Hi-Fi, which is late 60s early 70s. Although it would have been cutting edge in its day, I wasn't interested in it, because like most teenagers had already built my own powerful system. So for quarter of a century it sat unused. However last year, I officially 'became old' when I concluded everything in the charts was utterly crap. So I started to look for 'new' music elsewhere.

Review for Sony D-NE511 Silver ATRAC/MP3 CD Walkman:
reviews of volume, because this is loud enough on 1/3 to 1/2
volume using earphones.
I use these in-ear Creative Labs EP-630/A Earphones ASIN: B0009G6FQI.
which work superbly.
The headphone output on European models is 1.5 x 1.5 mW.
The frequency response is 20 - 20,000 Hz, which I believe
covers the complete human hearing range.
Those that complain must be using the wrong headphones,
or just prefer listening to extremely loud music.
My choice was between an Ipod or the Sony D-NE511 Walkman,
and I chose the Sony Walkman because:
My top criteria was to have the best sound quality...
..Sony Walkman wins, hands down.
You can play your original CDs and you can also play MP3s
recorded onto disc. I have just stuck with playing my originals.
Second was to have portability, without the soundtrack skipping...
...Obviously Ipod comes out top here, but my solution was to
purchase this cd player sports belt ASIN: B00005T39R.
It fits this Walkman perfectly.
The CD player is also jog proof, It has two settings, even on the
first setting it does not skip.
Included in the box is a mains adapter.
Or you can use dry batteries (two AAs) which are not included.
One niggle is that you cannot use rechargeable ones.
This item has been available since 1 Jan 2003, and a newer
version was brought out (Sony D-NE711) but is no longer available.
All in all this is a brilliant CD player that I highly recommend.

Review for Sony Dream Machine CD Clock Radio ICF-CD814:
As with other Sony items, the plastic casing feels solid and built to last. The sound is fine for a unit of this price with enough volume to reach the far side of a double bed :) The radio works well on FM but AM reception is hampered by the sheer number of radio stations elbowing each other for bandwidth. Consequently AM selectivity is not great. The FM aerial consists of a length of thin wire issuing from a hole at the rear of the unit which is why I think it was added late in the design process.
There are two independent alarm systems which can wake you with either radio, CD or buzzer. The utility of having two alarms in a single unit escapes me - unless your partner has long enough arms to reach the snooze button from the opposite side of the bed. The 'buzzer' beeps like a travel alarm clock - not like a mains driven unit - and, given the unit's night-time ambiance, viewed from the level of a pillow, of a Sherman tank, seems rather incongruous and pathetic.
The CD allows you to step through the tracks sequentially but there's no random play or repeat function. There are 'sleep' intervals of 90, 60, 30 and 15 minutes to turn off the radio or CD. The alarm 'snooze' time can be set from 10 to 60 minutes in multiples of 10.
The display digits are 35mm high with three switchable brightness settings which seem to cover most situations and should be visable even to those with the visual acuity of a mole. There's an 'audio in' socket to connect your portable MP3 player (not controlled by the sleep timer) but sadly no socket for headphones.
Overall? No prizes for beauty but, at half the cost and a third the size of a more stylish item, I feel justified in sacrificed my aesthetic needs at the alter of pecuniary interest.

Review for Sony Dream Machine CD Clock Radio ICF-CD814:
Sound build, adequate function
This product has the dimension and style of a biscuit tin, 'buzzers' that beep and an FM aerial that looks as if someone in the design department realised"Der crumbs Maisey, we forgot the FM aerial" just as the first batch was coming off the assembly line. Apart from that, it's fine.As with other Sony items, the plastic casing feels solid and built to last. Excellent Quality
This clock radio is excellent build quality, you can tell as soon as you unpack it.Dont be fooled into buying a back up battery as one comes with the unit already installed.
The display is perfectly adequate for brightness and I chose this one as the display is large but not huge and means that I do not have to put my glasses on in bed to look at the time.
The design is very good and has the Sony signature of being ageless and therefore will go with any setting.very pleased and satisfied.
