We bought this system from Argos in 2008, the radio gives high quality sound but the CD unit has broken down which is surprising for this make, I would have expected it from one of the cheaper brands but not Sony and, the repairman has said the same,I would advise anyone buying this system to take out extended warranty and I certainly would not trust this product again.

This has proved to be a very able replacement with great reception especially on FM. I live in a poor reception area so this is praise indeed.
The one down-side appears to be battery life. This is just my ipinion with no scientific basis... it just feels to me like it goes through batteries -- a single AAA at a time -- quite quickly.
Overall though this is an excellent radio and I recommend it.

Great bit of kit!
This was bought to replace a ten year old Sony item which has been all over the world with me and served me well...but simply took one drop kick too many and like the parrot, it ceased to be!This has proved to be a very able replacement with great reception especially on FM. We bought this item after seeing it at a friend's house. We were impressed with the quality of the sound and its design. We had a cheap pair of pc speakers that came with our computer package prior to purchasing, which were pretty useless.The speakers were very easy to set up and a very nice design. Good product, sounds great, does'nt distort at higher volumes, wide range of sound-plenty of base if required, as good as the more expensive KEF speakers we had (not an expert in sound though). Cheapest floor standing speakers I could find on net with a good brand name. For general use I would recomend, may be too powerful for small rooms, check sizes- they're tall.17

So I decided to buy a turntable and records, you can't beat the aesthetics of vinyl and lots of the covers are art in themselves. I've no interest in converting stuff to mp3 as I've enough of them and want the warmer analog sound. This was the cheapest brand name turntable I could buy in Dublin so I did. It's by and large v good but I found that it skipped on records that had no visible scratches, the reason is that the cartridge head is too light, the solution was to put some blu tack on the head to weigh it down, Sony are one of the best electronics company in the world and its very disappointing that they didn't spend a few cents extra to test it and weigh the head properly.

GOOD But....
these are very good. very good sound and brilliant to just pack away. the only thing is that the connector is very weak. had mine only a couple of months and a part of plastic on the connector snaped in my phone. so now i have a peice of plastic stuck in my sony ericsson. if you want to pay a bit extra get the mbs-100 speaker it is bluetooth and just amazing19

Compact, stylish and fit for purpose
Wanted a budget pair of speakers for my PC. After reviewing what was on the market and what could be bought 2nd hand from e-bay, I eventually settled on these Sony speakers, mainly persuaded by the price and the brand. I have not been disappointed. They are compact, match my pc unit and peripherals and produce an adequate quality of sound to support PC usage. My kids have used them to play their MP3, and again the quality and volume have been good considering the price of them.20

SONY Stereo with DAB and Cassette Tape player
I have a hundred or so Cassette tapes and have not the time to convert them to CD/DVD so purchased the Sony about 8 months ago. I have been delighted with it. Very reasonable purchase price well made and easy to use. My only minor complaint is that you have to retune tha DAB digital channels if you switch off mains power so mine remains on standby all the time now!

Great product, glad i bought it. like the fact the radio alarm turns itself off after an hour. You can alter the volume which is good too. it gets me out of bed in the morning without annoying me which i consider to be a great success with my reputation for not getting up in the morning.
