Cheap and cheerfull.

After having 2 more modern alarm clocks go bad on me I decided to go back to the basics. The led face is not too bright and the time automatically sets it's self. I could only find two critical points. 1. Getting the radio tuned could be a bit of a pain though that could be down to my area's signal strength. 2. The build quality was cheaper than imagined, having owned a 1980's version of the Dream Machine which was a solid heavy glossy plastic body this model feels like it would defintly break if knocked off the bedside table. Overall for the price I think it was a good investment.

audio visual experince

having purchased cinema upgrade kit along with sony tv and blueray player i am very pleased with product
good spec. and awesome sound from golf ball speakers.easy to set up and couple with tv and blueray player - all working from 1 remote control - can recommend sony products for price - all 3 products purchased from amazon - good service and price

Very happy

Good sound range and thumping bass (it actually goes through the whole house, much to my wife's annoyance). It's probably a bit too much for my study, well ok, it is, but the quality is loud and excellent. Recommended.

Great bit of kit!

This was bought to replace a ten year old Sony item which has been all over the world with me and served me well...but simply took one drop kick too many and like the parrot, it ceased to be!
This has proved to be a very able replacement with great reception especially on FM. I live in a poor reception area so this is praise indeed.
The one down-side appears to be battery life. This is just my ipinion with no scientific basis... it just feels to me like it goes through batteries -- a single AAA at a time -- quite quickly.
Overall though this is an excellent radio and I recommend it.

sony got to be much better than this

overall is alright,nonetheless there is no adjust button or something to tune level of buss or treble .

this is great - it's easy to move around the house and easy to operate. Although there are not many portable radio/cassette/CD players to choose from I am happy with this model. Sounds good too. It was useful to know that the power adaptor adds a few extra inches at the back and therefore not suitable for a shallow shelf area.

Sony DM CD Clock Radio ICF-CD814

This was a purchase for my wife that specifically wanted a CD player. This is certainly a nice clock radio with a rather large digital display. As mentioned by other people, there is a slight hum that comes from the machine, but not enough to keep you up. Overall, a good clock radio with some good features, such as waking up to the sound of your CD player. There are two alarm settings which can be set so you wake up during work days with the second alarm for weekends if you're inclined!

On a budget but want good sound? Buy 'em

For the money, these are great speakers. I use them as the secondary pair in a 7.1 set up. Good clear sound for vocals and music. Can't vouch for them with regards to handling bass as i only put mid to top end frequencies thru them. I will test them for low frequency sound output and edit my review if one day i've nothing better to do. :)

Disappointing

The sound quality playing CDs is very poor - listening on my PC is better than this. Use it in the kitchen just for the radio now. The tape-deck is useful though if you still have any tapes. Oh, and to understand the instructions, it will help if you are a code-breaker.

speakers

These speakers are not of very good quality; they vibrate and the sound reproduction isn't very good. However for the price and what I use them for they are just about acceptable.

Great HiFi speakers!

It's steel component of my HiFi system. Maybe forever. If not, possibly for many many years. Because it's:

- compact package, takes just a little room, tall but quite heavy and difficult to fall down or move anyway
- no need to have extra subwoofer speaker or any other, excellent equal transmission, very deep bass, wide mids and trebles
- good quality materials, real wood, kevlar etc., magnetically shielded
- very transparent, no sssssssss noise or distortion even on high settings, clearity, good details, quality of the sound is impressive
- very loud, 180 watt is enough for a big party, so powerful could be useful for many ideas
- quite cheap, super value, there's nothing on the market with this quality for this price

I've been trying to play lots of my storage music, CD, mp3 or other from computer also blue-ray films using Sony SS-F6000 speakers. And every time not disappointed. I love high quality sound. Every note shines here!

It doesn't really matters how good is your sound system if your speakers are weak. You can have a very high level of quality sound only if your loudspeakers are very high quality.

Loud but sadly that's it

Having recently broken the speakers that came with my w995 phone (ms410) I thought I would get a small but powerful replacement. I had read reviews stating the mps-70 was great; a powerful little device that gave good, clear sound. Excellent I thought, but it seems that while the little cubes can belt out the tunes, as it were, you can't, or at least using a w995 you can't, change the volume. You've got a choice of very loud or using your phones internal speakers. This is fine I suppose if you are on your own in an open space but if you don't want to share your music with everyone oe indeed want it to play at more pleasant volume you're out of luck. So, after using these once I went online and bought another ms410 speaker.

bought these headphones for my C905 as i received the ordinary headphones wih it that kept falling out my ears. they came just a few days later in the packet, brand new and perfect quality. well worth it, especially for the price

Great for the price

If you are on a budget and are looking for a decent pair of speakers then this is for you. The Speakers project the sound perfectly but they don't come without a flaw.
U need a few bateries to operate them and you will need to release them every week or so.

If your are in desperate need for a pair of speakers get these, if u are looking for a really good set it may be worth spending a bit more money

Finaly something simple!

i have owned this turntable from new for the past 2 1/2ish years, probably playing it a total of 4-5 hours a month. the turntable was bought to replace a bush turntable that seized up after 2 months and cut the grand canyon in one of my favourite records. in the last 2 years it has had no problems atal despite moving house three times. the stylus was replaced after about 19 months and was very easy to find thanks to the popularity of this unit (something to concider with"rare" turntables - the parts are"rare too!")

Overall I am very impressed with the turntable, it doesn't do anything fancy, it just does what you want it to do everyday without fail. Trying to find a turntable seems to have become unbelivably confusing in recent years with record players being replaced by"budget dj equipment", I am pleased to say that if you're like me and just like to listen to all your old records from time to time and have no asperations of being the next big DJ, then this is the record player for you.

Having a simple 'AUX out', it can be connected direct to an amplifier, your hifi (if u have an 'AUX IN' on the back)and home cinema systems.

for the most part the unit is very simple to use; you can select 45/30 rpm with the push of a button and the unit gives you the classic balance between fuly automatic and manual controls - you can either just put the record on and push the 'start' button and it will play through until the needle reaches the centre or until you push 'stop', or you can use the 'up/down' button to hold the arm over the record allowing you to move the needle to the song you want to listen to then release the button so that the neelde drops into place without causing a scratch and without the need of fiddling around with a counterweight at the other end of the arm.

The only thing that confused me about this record player when I bought it was the 'on board EQ' - the amplifier inside the unit; the on/off switch is located underneath the turntable drum and you access it via access holes in the drum underneath the protective matt - don't worry its all very simple, you have to inspect this area when you buy the player to connect the belt anyway. i assume the switch is all the way down here to stop you accidentaly switching it on or off during play and potentially damaging your equipment. i have found that the best way to play it is connect it with it turned 'off', play a record and if you can't hear anything but soft tinny rumblings, turn it on (you will need to turn it on if connecting to a mini/midi system)

This record player is fantastic value for money and the black with silver feet look means that it 'fits in' with a hole host of systems, especially sony/pioneer/kenwood. As another review stated you get what you pay for - no bells or whistles, it will just play your records, safely and accuratly everytime, for a long time.

this unit is problematic

this unit is not fit for purpose.the radio tuning only works for 2 wks after which the hifi is untunable.the product has been replace thrice now, same problem same old story.
latest sony advice me to take it to their repairer, radio worked for less than 2 weeks and stopped.
i have always be an avid sony craze supporter-range in my house tv,home theatre,desktop,in car radio entertainment,laptop FW series.
this product has cut my heart out,maybe i am just unlucky...........

What an excellent buy well worth the money very easy to use once i had recorded one vinyl 33 onto my computer,it only took about 5 more clicks for it to be downloaded to my sony walkman ready to go
