Good value for money

Does the job well for the money - had to reverse the tape deck to make it work but then it is the best solution I have found so far. The only downside is the lead isn't screened so there is interference if used with a mobile phone - put the phone on airplane mode and it is ok of course and we shouldn't be phoning and driving....

I have read all the reviews and one review scared me!
but i can see all the reviews with this product, so i gave it a try.
it's aowsome, i have 3G iPhone whith loads of musics and podcast so it works brilliant!
the sound qualities is so good, i think its look like u r playing music from cd player not an ipod..

i recommend it to all of u who have a good car lack of cd player..
Also it arrives in 2 days after dispatching, good deleivdery and high quality product..

Sony Ericsson HCB-150

This product works very well and is easy to use. The reception is clear and likwise, the transmission according to people at the other end of the line. The only slight criticism is that the in-car charging lead is a bit on the short side. When possible, I charge the unit in the house using my phone charger, but if I had to do it in the car, I would have to remove the unit from the sun visor as the power socket is in the centre console.

3rd device I've tried and well worth spending the extra money on. Good quality speaker and microphone. Usual story with the cheaper hands free kits is the poor microphone; not with this one.

sony cdx gt44ip cd player

This cd player although being under £100 is good enough to compete with some of the more expensive ones on the market it gives a very crisp sound and the ability to be able to connect up an amp further increase's the way of enhancing the sound

Brilliant Product

Its a genuine Sony Ericsson product thats well built and doesn't feel like it could break. When i first unpacked the product i couldn't understand what the small grey switch was on the piece that plugs into the phone. Map Light. Although many people may think using the interior light of the car would be easier i found that this map light isn't as distracting as the interior light of the car when driving at night. Another plus side is, if theres something your passenger is looking for within the car, the light is on the end of a wire and therefor they can shine the light under the seat... very handy! It does also charge your phone which is its main purpose but i thought the map light was ingenious and i didn't even realise it came with it. Top product, 100% happy with it.

Useful in a caravan

We recently purchased a new Elddis caravan with a fitted Sony Radio/CD unit. The instruction booklet mentioned this remote control device which was not available from Sony direct. A quick search at Amazon found it and it arrived only 2 days after ordering. (Well done to Car Audio Warehouse). I had not realised that some car radios have this facility. Ideal for use in a caravan as it saves getting up from the seats. It provides all the necessary functions and the buttons are well spaced for ease of use. Unit is slim and well made using CR2025 battery in a slide in/out tray.

Does the job!

This is a great little bit of kit. Not only does it charge your sony mp3 player it enables you to play your music through your car speakers.
Originally i had a problem with the volume when i plugged my sony mp3 player into the AUX point in my car, it didn't play through the car speakers so the sound was pretty rubbish. Now thanks to this that is no longer the case. I would recommend buying one of these!

Flawless product

Does what its ment to do. Good build quility as with most sony products but would have been better if it was smaller. Good dilivery.

A very poor effort

I am using this with my MEX-BT5000 head unit. Right from the off the design is poorly thought through - the cable from the box to the iPod is non removable and has quite a wide plug on it to go to the iPod, making it hard to thread through holes to route through the car. In the end I took the box to bits and unplugged it from inside the box itself to give me a lot more flexibility with routing the cable into the centre console box.

Once plugged in the disappointments continue - sound quality is reasonable, however the navigation of the iPod is very, very slow. On top of this every time you turn the car or stereo off the place you are at is lost and you have to start from scratch next time you start the car. Navigation is far, far too slow to consider seeking through by album or artist so the only way to make this useful is to make playlists before you travel. You cannot even use the controls on the front of the iPod to find stuff, as non of them work when it's plugged in.

Overall an obvious bodge job by Sony. I have given up on it and just use a mini jack to aux input lead and navigate on the iPod itself, which I think tells you everything you need to know about the XA-110IP.

Nice easy DIY fitting

Having always used Nokia Car Kits the decision to look for units by different manufacturers was a big one. After debating whether to get the Nokia CK-7W, Parrot CK3100 I opted for the HCB-700. What drew me to it was the ability to easily switch between handsets by just pressing a button on the control knob.

Instructions on fitting are clear with only four main wires, these being constant live, earth, radio mute (optional) and live when the ignition is on. All components are clearly marked where to plug into the main"brain". Fitting was straightforward apart from deciding where to fit the LCD and control Knob.

Following the instructions for synchronising phones was straightforward and switching between phones very easy. I can not test the unit to its full potential as I'm using it with a Nokia N70 and Nokia 6230, However; changing the colour of the LCD screen is available and very useful if you want different phones identifed by different colours.

Accepting calls is just a push of a button and if I had a Sony phone voice dial or phonebook dialling would be just as simple.

For those curious about the size of the control knob it sits approximately 4cm high and approx 7cm diameter.

Had this fitted for over a year now, used a variety of different phones with it (Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Blackberry, Palm, Sony Ericsson) currently using it with an SE850i, phone book syncs no problems, voice dial works with other phones as well, but seems to work better with the SE850i. Not had any issues with any phone I've used with it.

Superb Sony CD/Radio/Cassette

When my old Toshiba Unit gave up I doubted whether I would find another of the same quality.
I need not have worried because this new Sony is the most superb player I have ever bought.
The sound reproduction from the Radio,CD,& Cassette are all of the highest quality and I have
no hesitation in recommending anyone to purchase such an excellent product.

Safe, stylish, easy to use

This is a really great handsfree device. We've had others but they are always difficult to hear the person on the other end with as you seem to hear the road and engine more than anything.

This is TOTALLY different. You can easily hear the person in the car - they sound like they're talking on the phone without the car running. The fact that you can have lots of phones paired with it. This is really great if you have a work phone and personal phone (as I do) and then another personal phone (my husband).

I cannot recommend it highly enough and it was much cheaper on Amazon than anywhere else.

Great Radio/CD/bluetooth but poor Ipod control

The Cd and Radio functionality are what I expected and great. The controls and function switches are positive and feel solid. The bluetooth connectivity to my samsung SG800 works and the microphone is acceptable. I have it in an elderly MX5 that is noisy and people can hear what I am saying even with the hood down. Marry the phone and the radio and it connects when the engine and radio turn on and off when I get out the car. One word of warning, if you are sitting in your car with the engine off, and ignition on and chatting on the phone and then start the car, the radio turns off momentarily and cuts you off. No major issue though.

I have the optional Ipod doo-hickey (AX110IP) to connect the radio to my Ipod. Sounded great and my expectations were high; no more lose CD's rattling around in the car. Problem is the scrolling through the music (80Gb) is painful, you can choose Artist, Albums or playlists. Then you have to scroll one by one through them. (1 or so seconds per artist/album) The player also always starts with the first album alphabeticaly and plays track 001. It does not take long before you hate that track. Playlists or the shuffle tracks is the way forward. Moving or holding the selector arm down makes no difference and the manual is nonexistant for the Ipod bit. I am also thinking of getting a 2GB ipod shuffle so I can put my"driving" music on it and not have the other stuff. Hence the 4 stars..... Oh yes the sound is full and good through standard issue Mazda speakers!

Excellent piece of kit

I brought this item because my cousin in Australia recommended it to me, as he has put them in his trucks and cars. When he came over here, I had mine ready for him to install into my Lexus. Well what can i say, its great. Really simple to install, delivery was excellent from Harrow Electronics and I have gone on to buy 3 more for my other car and my family members. Well worth the money and brillant to use. It can hook up to 4 different phones and they all have their own colours to indicate which one is connected but if you want all 4 to access it at the same time, no problems it does that too. Even if your phone is in your handbag, no need to fish it out just answer on the small box on your dash. The mike and the speaker are put out of the way, so no wires and mess to see. Great! Defentily recommend this.
