Sony DAB in-Car radio CD with aux input

Easy to fit swapping it over in a FIAT Ducato van based motorcaravan. One wire to swap for permanent live feed so radio can be on without the ignition.

Reception (Rx sensitivity) so far seems mixed - very good when parked up but less sensitive when driving in fringe reception areas on FM and DAB. DAB switches to FM when necessary.

I love it

I love this stereo, especially as the bluetooth function is great.It was easy to fit to a 1997 Escort but did need an adapter and connector.

It give a good sound with my original speakers.And works fairly easily.

Just a the price of a joystick remote was too expensive as this would have made it perfect. This seems normal on all models though.

Excellent and works with Iphone 3G!!

Lots of bluetooth items wont work with IP 3g but this did straight out of the box. Quality is excellent - highly recommended!!

Atrac can be played if you have walkman only

I had this unit for a month now, and i think it is ok, a bit too expensive but ok.
It gets very very and i mean very how when you play music on medium volume, you can fry eggs easy on the back of this unit, so i had to put a little fan the back of it (helps a bit)
+ remote, easy to use, powerful, usb.
- heat, usb failures sometimes, light on the joystick does not dim(or change colour), too bright at night.

So i think this is a good HU from sony but with the price tag like that it gets too hot and could change screen colour to reb/blue/green and joystick surround.
Would i recommend it to someone ? YES
Would i buy one again ? Same one NO , another YES.

Great Head Unit

This is a great headunit for the money. The USB slot is a godsend, and the sound quality is pretty good. Setup is also very easy. The included remote is a waste of time though, as all the features can be accessed from the unit, unlike some Sony HU's where the remote gave acccess to other setup options.

Another brilliant Sony Ericsson product

Having taken several days to decide on which speaker phone to buy (I don't like those in your ear thingys),I eventually picked this one. Firstly because I have a SE phone but also because it looked the most stylish and it was fairly reasonably priced.
I ordered it on Monday around 2pm and it was there when I got home on Tuesday.
I opened the box and was even more pleased when I could actually hold it.I read the short instructions and with-in minutes I was phoning my wife.I put my phone down stairs at the back of the house and I took the speaker phone upstairs to the front of the house. My wife had no idea she was on speaker phone.
I have since used it in the car when driving at about 60MPH and the sound quality is as clear as anything.
It is very simple to use. once you have done the initial bonding with your phone, you simple have to press one button each time you want to use it. So when I get in the car I clip it to the sun visor ,press the button and drive off. It automatically bonds with your phone and then any calls I make or receive from then on automatically go through the speaker phone.
At the end of the journey, you simply press the button again and put it in the glove box or take it with you.

HELLO! IM ON A HANDS FREE - CAN YOU HEAR ME! HELLO!

The device looks good, has a colour screen which you can change to match your socks and is small enough to fit in your glove box. However, the sound on it is terrible - it is so quiet that you really have to push your ear up to it, and for the other person to hear you you have to shout. I drive an audi A3 and is quiet at motorway speed, but still to much noise coming from the road to hear a word the other person is saying. And when i put my front seat forward to access the back it gets knocked off. A pointless device unless your planning on taping it to your ear.

Sony keeps you talking!

I have been using a hard-wired mobile phone car kit for some ten years but with the latest handsets this is becoming increasingly more difficult. With changes to power cables and the variety of handset shapes, Bluetooth seems to have become the norm. With my latest Nokia N85 handset my only option to keep up my chats whilst mobile was to consider a Bluetooth Speakerphone.

And they are not all alike! As the Nokia N85 supports Bluetooth 2 for a more stable connection, the Sony HCB-100E fitted the bill, both in features and cost. There are plenty of useful features including the option to connect several handsets and recognise each by a coloured LED on the speakerphone, plus the option to extinguish this LED for nightime driving.

Connection to your mobile when entering your car is fast and fault-free and the speakerphone attaches securely to your visor. The call button on the device may be used to make calls or use caller voice recognition if your phone supports it. My only gripes are the fact that the power chord looks like it won't fit the socket on the speakerphone but with a little care it fits fine. The speakerphone volume is not as loud as a built-in kit and callers state the sounds to be somewhat 'hollow' but this is typical for stand alone Bluetooth devices.

All in all, I am very pleased with this device as it means I can continue my conversations safely whilst on the move. Recommended.

Sony 6x9 In-Car Speaker

First thing I should say is a word of warning! The actual fitted size of the speakers due to their huge covers is more like 11 x 8 which made it slightly more difficult when it came to fitting but anyway....when i got them in the sound was fantastic, great bass response and treble was great too. They keep their sound quality up to pretty high volumes and would just make a great addition to any car sound system. Compared to other 6x9s that I have listened to in similar set-ups in friends cars they just have a far far better sound quality. Would certainly choose again.

Having Problems!

Installed this unit myself, a little fiddly if you're not use to taking parts of your dashboard apart like me but I'm happy with the result. Certainly not to be attempted by someone who doesn't have a clue about cars and their electrics!

Ok, now installed I have this working with an old Nokia (work) phone with no issues at all, oddly enough it's not working correctly with my Sony Ericsson phone (W850i), my phones keeps freezing and I need to constantly remove the battery. Had to switch off/on the handfree (easy to do) a couple of times as well as seems to stop communicating however I believe this is linked to my Sony phone!

I've contacted Sony Ericsson and await a response (my phones firmware is upto date) so I will have to say if you have a W850i phone DON'T buy this, it seems fine with other phones however.

Unless I get a positive response from Sony this could well be going back which will really P!^& me off after installing the kit.

Anyway, that's my experience to date, decide as you please.

Really happy

I haven't had a portable music device for quite a while now and wanted something that was truly adaptable. Sometimes I'm in the family car, sometimes I'm in my car and sometimes I need to travel by train. I also work away from home pretty regularly. This device is fantastic for all situations.

My previous car had a 10 disc changer in it, my current car has a BOSE tape/radio system in it which is excellent quality and I didn't want to get rid of it. I can fit over 11 hours of MP3's on one CD with the MP3 format @ 128 kbps - Who needs a 10 disc changer!

Other comments about the sound are just plain wrong. As another reviewer says, the volume will reset itself if there are no batteries in it, it's not difficult to turn up and it is more than loud enough for me at 50% volume on the headphones. I even think the standard headphones are ok. Mind you I'm no pretentious muso who can tell if you use gold connectors or not. I'm just normal. When it's played through the car stereo the volume is more than loud enough for anyone. The people who haven't got this working ok must be like the walls of a castle. I didn't do anything special and it worked brilliantly straight away.

I haven't tried the ATRAC thing and I probably won't. I usually rip my mp3's at 128 kbps and they sound fine to me and the format suits my other compatible devices. ATRAC would limit my discs to this portable device or at least playing them through it and I don't see the point. An 11 hours plus cd allows for variety and if you take the time to put compilations of songs you really love on a cd how many could you possibly need?

In short, I'm really pleased I bought it.
