Good DVD player but poor sound

This is a good looking DVD player that we bought for our 8 year old son for car journeys. I don't think the battery ever lasted the 5 hours but there is a car charger and home plug charger so this has never been as issue for us. It does last a good few hours. One downside is the sound quality, most of the time we have to have the sound quality turned upto the highest level. Finally no straps ect for attaching to seats of car.

Not Bad

Must admit it is all that. Had a little help installing it, but seemed straight forward if i had to myself. Instructions on how to use the radio/cd player were as straight forward as you can get. The roads round my way are not the best, but that didnt bother the playback on any cd - i really cant fault this and i would recommend this radio/cd player to any of my mates.

SONY HEAD UNIT

this is a bargain price... i bought my one in halfords and it was £180.00, so i was gutted to see it here £70 cheaper...

the head unit its self is nice, well made, nice feel to it, and easy to use..... however there does not seem to be seperate bass & trebble controls and instead you can select frequencies that you want the speakers to respond to, which is ok i guess.......
also it relied on you slecting"modes" of music to listen to , like"pop, rock, vocal" etc, where as i'd prefer to have a straightforward plus or minus for the trebble & bass..... however its ok.

you can also display various"graphics" on the screen while the music is playing.... this is very"chavvy" in my opinion so just set it to a frequency pattern rather than the other options...

also the aux input... they should supply the lead with the head unit for this, i think it would also be better having a fixed aux lead from the back of the head unit. as it is... everytime you take the face off, you have to unplug it....

id prob spend the £180.00 on a better model buying online... but £112 for this is good.

Great CD Player

This is a great CD player. It was easy to install and it looks good in the car (not too silver like some others). So far its played all my CDs (Normal and MP3).

Its quick at reading CDs and I like how it resumes the last track you were playing when you switch to radio or even when you turn off the engine and come back later. The remote control is a a nice extra too.

All in all, I would recommend.

More like a portable Radio

Be very careful with this 'Walkman'. The Software you HAVE to use with this player is the worst i have ever some experienced (if you can get it to even work!) I have a creative labs mp3 player with is perfect to use, drag and drop tracks straight onto the player but no Sony have to difficult with their own players. Believe the lower ratings on other reviews the software used to convert MP3's to be compatible is a nightmare, i've tried to think of something positive to say but there isn't any.

The only good think about this player is that it looks and feels like a state of the art piece of kit and it is massively let down by software Sony supply. (reminds me of Starforce protection.....) Nice radio quality though but its very expensive to be used as a portable radio.

Take my advice and the other reviewers with similar stories and avoid this player.

high quality, high price

if it wasn't for the price, these would have scored 5 stars. The sound quality is amazing, and i highly reccomend this speaker to anyone with enough money
