Not bad at all!

Even thou these are not in ear earphones, they still impressed me! can wack up the volume without any or much distortion in sound quality.

My favorite headphones.

First off, the reason I bought these headphone was because my house mate had them and I broke his so I needed to get a replacement set.

Their quality is so good I used his all the time and never used my own!! The quality of the Audio is on par with what I would expect from much more expensive headphones, I couldn't believe how cheap they are when I looked them up. I decided to buy a set for him and another set for myself. I use them all the time ( they're actually around my neck as I write this), especially gaming which they are perfect for! ( I can actually identify the position of other people just by audio alone)

The speakers themselves are surrounded by a soft material which never chafes or irritates. I've used these for a very prolonged period and they were just as comfortable when I took them off as they were when I put them on.

The head band is also highly adjustable to suit the size of the wearer's head - there are 9 settings.

I can't recommend this product highly enough at this price.

We have a Winner!

I am an audiophile - thousands of cd's and tall Mission floor speakers to create my 'sound stage' with me sat in the middle like that guy in the old Maxwell Audio Tape advert being blown away by the awesomeness of it all- yep that's been me for years. Six months ago my girlfriend threw a 160GB Classic ipod at me for Xmas telling me to join the human race and like a caveman being confronted with the possibilities of the wheel for the first time I walked around it grunting and scratching myself while throwing numerous tantrums for another month learning how to use the damn thing and you know what ... it's brilliant!! Just one last problem to overcome though, which earphones? People let me tell you it's been a long, very long, and expensive journey with all the main principle brands and styles being tried and it's all whittled down to this . . . the Sony MDR-ED21LP. Bliss.

Excellent inexpensive headphones

I bought these recently so I could watch TV and play games late at night without worrying about keeping the volume low to avoid waking up my partner or our baby. So far I am very pleased with them - they seem sturdily built, the three metre wire is just the right length for where I sit and the sound quality seems excellent. Although I don't have a lot of experience with quality sound systems, these headphones have sufficient bass, don't 'bleed' sound that I have noticed and when playing a game they convey where a character or sound is relative to the on-screen character -- i.e. if someone's walking behind me to the right, I'll distinctly hear the footsteps behind and to the right, which is brilliant, and incredibly immersive when gaming.

There is a switch between TV and music on the side of them, although I haven't noticed that this makes any difference. They are comfortable to wear and I think the build quality seems solid, with no noticeable parts that would be inclined to break. One thing to note is that they are very big and bulky, and would not be suitable for use on the move. However, if you're looking for a cheap pair of headphones to use at home, I would thoroughly recommend these based on daily use for the last couple of months.

Stunning headphones

I never use the stock headphones supplied with mp3 players or phones.

These headphones are certainly amongst the best. They reproduce sound faithfully, and have good range from the bass end to the other. They also come with Medium, Small, and Super (?) Small earbuds too. Also supplied is a rubber/plastic cable tidy which I probably won't get much use out of

I can't comment on longevity though, I've only had these a while

A fantastic product

We purchased two of these as we bought them for our 3 and a half yr old twins for watching dvds on plane trips. I was worried they would be too big but they were brilliant, the adjustment mechanism means no head is too big or too small (perfect for adult and child alike)the wide frame makes it a really comfortable fit ....the quality of these headphones is excellent, sound transmission is very clear and evenly dispersed. A really wonderful product and a great bargain !!!!!

You Get What You Pay For

Cheap, yet effective. Unless you have ever used some top quality ear phones, these will sound really brilliant, especially for the price. They block out most atmospheric noises leaving only your music in your ears, even on a medium volume- especially useful for long train journeys sharing a carriage with anti- social noises!
For me, these are purely a back- up pair, and they do that job easily.

Excellent for my sanity

My son was given a rehomed ipod (an older model) for his birthday, and a stereo to play it through.

His choice of music (he's 10) soon started to drive me slowly insane..... So I encouraged him to get some head phones and he bought these.

Now he can enjoy his music and I can work in peace!

Excellent value for money

Excellent value for money - does what it says on the tin ...could be a bit little bit longer but I have no qualms!!!!

Ok for light exercise but sweat in ears is a real problem

Why is it sports headphones only ever last a few months down the gym before one of the speakers gives out for some reason? Anyway, my latest purchase are these little headphones. Used them today for the first time. During cycling and rotex (say heart rate of about 110 beats per minute), absolutely fine - limited sweating in ears. Very comfortable and good sound quality. Running on the treadmill at 135bpm - a different story - soon the left speaker went completely and I was running with mono music. Nothing I could do to fix this. Having dried out, they are now OK again.

rubbish

Bought these in January 2010, the sound is ok but now the left one does work at all after 6 months. I thought they would be reasonably good quality being Sony and mid price range but unfortunately not. Not happy.

Fantastic earphones

I ordered some of these ages ago but stupidly broke them. I've just ordered another pair after buying some from Currys and being very disappointed. These will not disappoint, I promise! They're very well priced and sound amazing! They go quite loud too.
HIGHLY recommended!

Very sensible choice

I must admit that I am completely satisfied with these earphones. They win definitely when compared to Sony MDRNC22 or Sony MDR-NC60. Quite comfortable in use, well designed and for this price I give them 5 out of 5.

High Quality But Uncomfortable

On the whole, these headphones are pretty good, the sound is of very high quality and the bass certainly shines through. I've listened to a variety of things now and they all seem to sound very high quality compared to my old headphones.

There is one downfall though which I think makes me rate at three stars. The design is generally nice and clever apart from the actual headphones themself! The cups are very circular and last time I checked, human ears are oval at best which means they don't fit as nicely as I would of hoped because they're a little bit too small (picture makes them look bigger). As well as this, the clamping as others have commented on is pretty strong. By itself it isn't a problem, but when the headphones don't fit as comfortably as wanted, it can make things worse.

Brilliant headphones!

I first got a pair of these with a sony CD discman some years back. I used them without so much as a second thought - until they finally gave up the ghost and I realised how difficult it was to find a suitable replacement. Earbud phones fall out, and over-ear ones make the inside of my ears ache and aren't easy to get on/off, and I didn't want a pair of massive professional-style headphones. After searching around the high street for anything vaguely similar to no avail, I was delighted to find these still available via Amazon's suppliers. It does sound as though they are end of life now, so I've just bought 2 pairs to keep me going for some years. Considering how well-priced they are, I'm almost tempted to buy a 3rd pair now to be on the safe side. If you don't get on with earbud phones and over-ear clips, these could well be the ones for you. Catch 'em while you can!

My ears Ached after 30 mins

Just want to add a review about these headphones to warn people before wasting their money. These headphones are so tight and the cans are the wrong size, my ears started to hurt after about 30 mins. I thought id go cheap and cheerful for some headphones and i regret that now, listening to music or in my case vido editing should be an enjoyable experience, not with these. i'm now looking around for some new ones. Hope this helps.

quiet life

Great headphones - quality noise reduction while allowing less intrusive sounds to get through. Used them twice in flight so far and they were so cool - greatly reduces the constant background roar and I could hear the film so distinctly. Greatr with my ipod as well. These are a real bonus to travel.

Sony LCS carry Case Review

This Case looks very stylish in the picture, very well priced but in reality its a cheap price for a cheap case. the sticthing around the edge is poor quality and lets the finish down, the sony case doesn't compare to the samsung case. But it does the job.Maybe its a good thing, if people see an expensive looking case they may be more likely to steal it?????

Best of the lot

Had no problems with these whatsoever until I accidentally dunked one earphone into coffee. Before that, they had good quality sound and are the better of three sets of earphones I've tried. Have just ordered another set.
