Good sound with music & phone calls but a little basic looking

First the not so good bits:

Appearance. Its basic & old fashioned looking.

Sound leakage. There's quite a bit of it (inevitable with this open back design) & you'd need to keep the volume quite low when using them in a quiet environment.

Everything else is pretty good:

Music. OK, not too compressed sounding & clear & can go very loud. Base a bit quiet but the timing is fair enough.

Phone Calls. Clear & loud & (with a suitable mobile) your mobile will ring even if you are playing music.

Its quite quick to charge, 'pairs' easily with all the mobiles I've tried it with (Nokia, Motorola & Sony Ericson) & you can change tracks , adjust the volume etc via the headset .

Best of all the sound very rarely drops & the build quality is pretty good (as you'd expect from Sony)

Price is good & the instructions clear.

All in all, a very good buy!

Superb bit of kit

I bought these headphones for use with my bluetooth pocket PC. And they work an absolute treat. The bluetooth link is solid and the controls work just fine. If your pocket PC has a phone it'll do both. It will mute your music while you receive a call then increase it again afterwards. I have even used it in the rain with no issues. You just have to dry it out carefully afterwards. The battery lasts for about 5 of so hours of music listening.

Unfortunately, the charger is a bespoke thing and you have to balance the unit precariously on it.

Brilliant

As the previous reviewer stated these are very much entry level headphones. But they have fantastic sound quality, surviving both my softer Kate Rusby tracks and my Death Metal Hammerfall tracks at low and high volumes. I'm using mine with my Sony Walkman MP3 player and they are by far better than the phones that came with it originally, which shocked me because I felt the sound quality with them was true to life. Sony have truly outdone themselves with these headphones. They look stylish too.

Great Headphones

I was dubious about the design, after buying a pair of similar-looking Sennheiser CX 300 (which were utterly abysmal for sound quality). However, I've aleays been satisfied with Sony Headphones and I needed an upgrade of my Apple Ipod Headphones, so I took the plunge based on the review already posted.
They sound great. Solid bass and good full-spectrum sound. I listen to heavy rock mainly (Zep, Metallica, Maiden etc) and they really deliver.

disappointed with my extensive research and perference.

After days of study and comparing different products, and reading reviews (other sites), i ordered this one from amazon, and my Sony MDR-AS20J Active Series Headphones just landed today. I decided to use it at office before taking it out to the gym and guess what it does not fit my ears. I think I have average size ears and they dont stay at one place even when I am working at my desk. Sound quality is excellent. And this would probably fit and work well for someone with big ears...
3 stars because sound quality is good and the product is good, but does not fit my purpose..

AWFUL!!!

I had a lot of trouble with these headphones. The volume control was the reason why I bought them, however, it was money well wasted. They are not as loud as the other"cheaper" models and they are awfully uncomfortable. The angle can't be adjusted on these so you only hear a part of the sound like mid and high... no much bass. I tried twisting them as much as possible to get a full sound, but they return to their original position almost instantly... stay away, unless you enjoy listening to music with your hands keeping the headphones at the right angle at all times. Just imagine running in the morning, with your hands holding your head... you'll be sectioned in no time!!! ;-)

Very Good

I paired these up with my PDA for music, films and telephone hands free and it works fine, my main objective was to use with Yahoo Voice on my Laptop and I spent a whole day trying to get them to work eventually finding the reason why, it was not to do with the headphones but SKYPE, Skype is such a bad company, I have heard many reports of their software"grabbing" files for exclusive use which rendered all other software useless so once Skype was dumped I can make and receive calls from Yahoo and MSN seamlessly.
I found the quality of playback superb, such strong deep base, although I found mid to upper ranges constrained somewhat, that said it was just a case of tweaking a Graphics Equaliser to compensate, personally I prefer wireless non blue tooth to these and of course wired to wireless but neither of the latter connects to a phone so overall I am very pleased. There is no hiss or interference at all, I can venture into another room with only 1 wall between and still receive a perfect signal, but any more than that and the signal drops out.
Switches are a little fiddly that said most are anyway until you get used to them. I took these out of the box at 8.00am without charging them and listen to music and phone calls till 11.30pm and the batteries continued until that point where I called it a day. They are very comfortable to wear. And yes if I had to replace these I would buy another pair.

An Essential Addition to your SONY HDV Camcorder

The Sony range of semi-pro HDV camcorders are excellent with one minor niggle - the supplied batteries don't give you much more than a couple of hours (As tested on a Sony HDR-FX7 and an HDR-FX1). The solution is to purchase the NPF970 6600mAh long life battery. Using Sony NPF970 batteries I was able to run FX7 for 480 minutes record time and 660 playback. The additional weight of this higher capacity battery doesn't destabilize the camera much if at all, and it is light enough to still allow you to go hand held without having your arms go dead halfway through that crucial shot.

If you are serious about your camcorder usage and your digital video get one of these for your Sony HDR-FX1/FX7/Z1. Better yet, get two and have enough juice for a whole weekend's shooting.

Wrong specification

Top of page for this item says this battery is 1360mAh, it is not.
True capacity for NP-FP50 is half of that, 680mAh, as printed on the package.
In the technical specfications on the Amazon website it actually quotes the true capacity as 680mAh.
I suspect Amazon have made a mistake, quoting two different capacities, watch out for a correction later
You do not get a lot of battery capacity for your money

Works great with my phones and my Mac laptop!

Had these for quite some time now, very pleased with them. The work great with a Nokia 6233, an SPV M700/HTC 3600 ( I installed an A2DPFix program to tweak the quality of audio over bluetooth and improve it) and during the day I use them with my Apple MacBookPro listening to tracks from iTunes.

Great set of headphones, good sonics, the bass is fab when they're tucked in the ear nicely. Recommended

Does what is says!

Got this about 3 days ago, wad delivered on the day the supplier said it would be, via courier which justies the P&P charges I think.

One thing to note is that you DO get a screen protector with it, so you don't have to buy seperate ones. the cover fits perfectly on my NWZ-A828K and you can use all the buttons and all the sockets are fully accesible. Its doesn't fit in my cradle with it on, but that the same with all the cradles. overall very impressed and for a better price then you get on ebay!

Very Good

These head phones are a lot beeter thatn the last ones i had. My old one'ssnapped. However these don't stay on your head very well. This is why ionly gave them 4 out of 5. They also have static in between songs...but sodo all cordless headphones. You just have to let it grow on you.
