Surprisingly good

I'm no audiophile but i like good sound with a good base response and good highs.
I think these were better than expected and i use them for listening to CD quality tracks. You get different size ear pieces and the cable length is fine for using out and about.
I only gave them 4 stars due to lack of a carry case
Apart from that i think there are great value for money with good sound.

Generally okay, but broken after 3 months.

These headphones are not the worst I have tried, but after 3 months of use the right earphone no longer works (perhaps dodgy wiring?). I have bought this model before and the same thing happened on those too (I bought the second pair assuming it was my fault the original ones broke, and spent the last 3 months being careful to never use the cable to pull out/fit)
I dont think they are special enough to try one more time ! so time for another model I think :p

excellent design but bass not powerful

they are innovatively designed to fit comfortably with or without the ear clips and they look good without the ear clips as well. The downside though is they are not as powerful as my old sony MDR-AS40EX, better looking though.

Reliable and well-priced

I've had a couple of pairs of these phones before and subject them to a fair bit of hammer as I spend a lot of time in transit, on trains and on foot. For such inexpensive phones, they're very comfortable and have excellent sound reproduction. And unlike many other phones on the market, they yield a fair amount of output, with next to no bleed even at relatively high volume.

Love them

I've had these headphones for almost three years now and I absolutely love them. Unfortunately the sound has now gone in the left ear, which was my fault for letting the kids borrow them, so they would have probably lasted longer.

At first I wasn't interested in the folding part of the headphones, but then I realised how easy it was to put them away in a bag, so that they were nice and safe until I needed them again.

I agree with another reviewer that they don't seem to fit on your head properly - when you first get them. It doesn't take long before they fit snugly.

The sound quality was excellent, absolutely the best I have ever experienced in any headphones. I used these almost every single day, and as I said, they lasted me almost three years.

The cheap ones I bought to replace them are driving me mad, the sound is awful and needs to be on the highest setting to get any sort of enjoyment from them. Thank goodness amazon has these headphones, I am about to order some more! Although they are pricer than my original purchase of these headphones.

could do better

More bulky than other makes, wires appear fragile. Took the rubber housing off as unnecessary. Performance is good as expected but durability remains to be seen.

More Bang for Your Buck

I have invested so heavily in Sony products I feel that I am entitled to shares. I am in agreement with many of the more positive reviews on this item. My partner and I invested in the Sony Walkman NWZ-A815/6 and I bought a A816 for my daughter. These earphones were supplied with all three players (including multiple ear pieces).

The sound quality is a huge improvement over a wide range of similar products I have used. I was puzzled over what seemed an unreasonable leap in price, but now feel that it is a worthwhile investment. I play music from classical to heavy metal, rap to electronica and remain surprised at its range and dexterity.

The downside is the cord itself: too short (requiring extension) on the players; soft, with one set lost to a jacket zip which cut it in half; rubbery, annoyingly so, tangling up despite storage efforts; and does not fair well if pulled with some regularity from players.

I have been told off on trains for volume setting range 20 to 30! I will continue to buy and replace as much as I have to for the quality alone - definitely 'more bang for your buck'!

It's a great player

This player is a great piece of kit. BUT when I very first received it I was more than a little worried. It wouldn't load nevermind play any of my discs. Having said that, I left it alone for 24 hrs and since then its been perfect. The sound quality, in stereo and mono, is great. The playback options give you lot of scope and the controls are very easy and fuctional to use.

Sexy headphones

DO NOT BUY THESE HEADPHONES IF YOU WANT UNCOMFORTABLE, UGLY LOOKING, POOR QUALITY HEADPHONES. THEY WILL DISSAPPOINT YOU.

These headphones are superb. I have only good things to say.

They look stunning, are the most comfortable headphones made to fit and they sound great. You may not want these if they are for listening to loud heavy music as the bass might not be strong enough but for the TV, movies and light music listening they excel. Im wearing them now as I have been for most of the day, they are comfy and sturdy.

The recharging is easy as can be, simply put them on the cradle and your done. Keep the TV/Hi-Fi input louder than the headset volume and its perfection.

Enjoy them.

Good quality, tad pricey

Good quality case, and fits perfectly as it's made specially for the Sony Walkman S series (I bought it for the NWZ-S639FR).

Seems that it would provide a good level of shock dissipation as the edges are slightly thicker silicon. The buttons also have thicker silicon to allow them to be pressed easily. Surprisingly the volume control (on the side of the player) is also quite easy to manipulate despite the small size of the button. The case also adds a lanyard loop on the bottom which is largely superfluous but not too intrusive. The screen is unprotected by silicon but it comes with a scratch resistant film that adheres to the screen.

All good really, only knocked a star off for the fact that at £12 it's rather pricey for what it is but the fact that it'll add life to an already expensive player should make up for that.

Sony MDR-410LP Headphones

Compact, lightweight and efficient, with very acceptable sound quality for everyday use with portable equipment or pc. They sit nicely folded on the pc desk ! Folding mechanism is a bit flimsy, and may not last long with heavy-handed use. Good value for money. Five star rating takes the low price into consideration. Buyers wanting a more durable headphone might look at the Sony 710 model.

Genuine Product

Having had problems with another online retailer whilst trying to order a cheap spare battery for my Sony DSC-V1 and ending up with an unsuitable generic brand I was very pleased when the aAazon product turned out to be exactly what was advertised - a genuine Sony battery! And delivery was extremely quick too!

Sony, this time you got it right

I have received my mdr-ex700 few days ago, and I fell in love with it at first listen, it is very well balanced sounding earphone on all frequencies, very good bass for an earphone, some time I got carried away and I thought I was listing through ATH-W5000, I mean it, this earphone is that good. There are no other earphones that I listend to can compare with this one. If sony could reduce the price of this earphone, then they will have a winner.

what can I say, Sony, with this earphone you got it right.

Dont decide to buy before you listen to this product, may be you will not like it the way I did.

The cover fitted poorly and after fixing the screen cover it bubbled up in parts and no amount of effort resolved that problem

Sony never disappoint.

As always, Sony never fails to bring quality sound and design in a compact pair of headphones. After my original in-ear headphones which came with my Sony NWZ-A816 broke after a few months of use (the extension cable didnt last and there are no suitable replacements ANYWHERE!!!) i bought a pair of Philips SHE 5800s which were on the whole, very disappointing. Good sound but 'perfect fit'? No chance.

So I looked for some SONY earphones to step up to the plate and decided to try this number as it looked very similar to my previous Sony ones - only difference is that these are not noiseblocking as the Sony NWZ-A816's; they have no rubber ear-pieces. This didnt deter me and I went through to buy it and upon recieving it - I was slightly disappointed in the sound quality. I put it down to me being used to powerful in-ear sound from the NWZ-A816's, but within a few minutes I got used to this sound from these MDR-ED12's. Like all other Sony products, sound quality is good, bass is a little weak but can be boosted with various settings from your mp3 player so that is good. And the best thing? THEY DONT FALL OUT! SUCCESS!

In short, a step down from powerful in ear sound, but great nonetheless.
