Bloody awesome

got these in march 2008 for birthday. Thought they woudnt fit cos of reviews but mate these are bloody brilliant. they answer phone calls, change music, have volume controls and are really comftable. WORTH EVERY PENNY

Acceptable

These are very large ear phones and they do stick out a long way from one's head. The sound quality is not that good, certainly not as good as the ones supplied with an ipod. The wire attached to them is very long, to the extent that I have to curl the excess around the ipod just to keep it out of the way.

Good Value for DSC-W55

The Sony Cybershot DSC-W55 fits snuggly in the case. The battery compartment in the front (zipped) is tight, but it is easily accessible if you remove the camera before using the pocket. Not fully airtight, but the fabric is thick (well-padded) and seems heavy-duty.

Excellent value compared to buying both items separately.

shutting down problem

I have had these for about 6 months. They have been pretty good, but with an occasional spontaneous shutdown of the base unit. The sound was reasonable, but not much bass. There is a constant hiss, but I think this is to be expected of all wireless headphones. The hiss is not noticeable when sound is playing. All in all I was happy enough with them as I only used them for listening to DVD's through a portable. The unit has input via phono or 3.5 inch jack so you should not have any problems connecting to any audio device and cables are supplied. Battery length is good and is more than enough for a few films. Rechargables are supplied and are easily replaced with AAA batteries of any type.

6 months on and the problem with shutting down became a real pain. They base unit would stay of for anything between 3 and 30 mins. Once they shut off the only way to get the sound back is to unplug from the mains and plug back in. The headphones are designed to shut off when there is no sound detected or when you take them off, but the base unit should stay on. Watching a film would mean having to get up several times to switch on/off the base unit. It is a pain when you are mid sentence in a gripping scene and the sound just stops dead. They are no longer usable and I have asked for a replacement/refund.

Don't know if they just sent the wrong thing by mistake but what I received aren't as in the photo. They are sort of V shaped at the top and do not snap open and closed, they are worn backwards so the V bit goes behind your head. Feels a bit weird at first but I've got used to it, just make sure you wear them the right way up or they will feel like they're going to slip off.

On a good note they are made by Sony, work fine, the cable is a decent length and the sound quality is fine.

So they're not bad, but not quite what I expected, so gave them a 3/5

If you want to look them up, the product I received was the Sony MDR-G54LP. There are plenty of images on Google Images and a good description on the Sony website. However like I said I may have just been sent the wrong thing. Too much hassle to find out though at under £10, so up to you if you want to take this review with a grain of salt.

Perfect!

This is my first review for Amazon, but the quality of this product deserves one. Like many others, I was constantly taking pictures of the inside of my pockets because of the design fault on the K800i - namely, the stupid camera shutter that constantly opens when the phone is in your pocket and drains the battery!! This case solves that problem by having a press-studded flap on the back. Plus the case fits very snugly, has all the right gaps in all the right places (so you can plug in the charger, etc), and looks fab. I would give it six stars if I could.

RIP OFF HEADPHONES!!!!!!

Got my Sony PSP for christmas but no headphones. So, saw these and ordered them in a rush and in good faith, expecting them to work.......But NO they are a complete rip off!! As you can imagine I was really looking forward to using them, ( my partner is fed up of listning to Lara Croft) got them out of the box, tried to plug them into my PSP but found the jack to be the same size as normal headphones - the jack is far to big. Needless to say this was very frustating as even though the headphones were 22p, the P&P was £4.00 which is non refundable, so your being ripped off twice by ALLCAM, and they are not the only ones doing this.
Please do not buy this product as you wil be sadly dissapointed. The best bet is to get the PSP starter pack which comes with the PROPER headphones for your PSP.

Sony MDR-410LP Headphones

Compact, lightweight and efficient, with very acceptable sound quality for everyday use with portable equipment or pc. They sit nicely folded on the pc desk ! Folding mechanism is a bit flimsy, and may not last long with heavy-handed use. Good value for money. Five star rating takes the low price into consideration. Buyers wanting a more durable headphone might look at the Sony 710 model.

ok, but flawed

I bought these as I've had some similar sony earphones over the years, and thought these would be better.

Pros:
The sound quality is good and clear.
The foam ear pads are comfy to wear.
The retractable wire is great as it means you never have any spare wire handing around.

Cons:
The plastic ear straps are very sore to wear, and sometimes I just couldnt wear them anymore as it hurt too much
The wire is super thin so gets tangled easily, and seems like it could be easily broken
For having super thin wires and a retractable system, the wire is quite short, and only good for close range use to player.

- These are good but I found they get tangled too easily, and they hurt my ears every time I wear them becasue of the hard plastic ear clip.

SAVE YOUR MONEY

These are quite possibly the worst headphones i have owned. simply put they are totally unsuitable for any form of exercise as they refuse to stay in your ear. the sound isnt that good either. while credit is due for the shorter than average cable it really cannot detract for the overall rubbish performance. dont waste your money.

See for yourself

After reading mixed reviews for this camera i decided to trust my instict.
I'm so glad i did, a girlfriend previously owened a sony so i new their cameras where allready top notch.

From the moment i turned it on l new l had made right choice, the startup speed is spellbounding.

Face detection is amazing, even pics up peoples faces on my laptop of other pictures l had there. Having a basic understanding of digital cameras is all you need and you pick it up in no time. Just playing around with it the best way to learn. The touch screen is amazing, just make sure you get a screen cleaner to go with it!

All i can say is get it and you will see how good it is, as with any sony product nothing but highest quality. You will not be dissapointed

P.S. Some people complained about the quality of low light shots, all you need to do is play around with the different scenes and you find the best picture quality. The colour is also really cool and make it stand out

Dreadful...but then again they are Sony's

I've only had one pair of Sony's that I've liked, and these are them! the folding mechanism is ridiculous, and the sound is average at best. Go for the Koss Porta Pro headphones instead.

Oh, and the only pair of Sony's I've like? The MDR-CD280's.

Too small for the DSC-W170 camera

I bought one of these cases to go with a Sony DSC-W170 but it is too small for this camera. It is advertised by Photo Land on Amazon as"for T-Series & W-Series". It is a nice little case but NOT suitable for all Cyber-shot's - Beware!!
