Excellent Headphones

These are great, they are tidy, have great quality sound and fit my ears very well! I could see though how some peoples ears would not fit as well! I bought these about 2 years ago and use them every day, sadly mine have just broken (the cable inside has a loose connection) and considering how they get treated sometimes I am amazed they lasted two years! I am now going to purchase another set exactly the same, because I love them!

Great Device... Shame about Gromit Design

I bought this device in Singapore at the airport. Loved the look of it, very stylish, works great with my phone, crystal clear sound, a little short on battery life and two hours to charge but overall a very pleasing device. One grumble, the earbud gromit! It came with one fitted and two spares, however being a typical bloke soon lost these when putting the device in my pocket when leaving the motor. Just like my socks in the washing machine, the damn things just disappeared. I have tried to purchase a new one from several sources, Sony will supply one when I send £5.00!! for a piece of rubber worth less than 5p... PLEASE!!!

Doesn't Deserve the Walkman Branding...

I bought this item to use with a W910i phone and was very disappointed with it. The sound is clear and crisp but severely lacks bass, even using the Mega Bass equaliser setting on the phone handset. These headphones are fine for phone calls or listening to the radio. However this product carries the Walkman name so it should deliver satisfying sound when listening to music, which it ultimately does not deliver.

The ear-buds themselves are very comfortable and stay in well compared to most other in-ear headphones I have used. The build quality of the display/remote could be better though as some of the buttons feel cheap and flimsy, especially the track up/down switch.

With the cords connecting the two ear-buds and the display/remote (which hangs round your neck), this item isn't really wireless either - the only wire missing is the one connecting it to the phone! My advice would be to save your money and get the HPM-70 (if they weren't included with your phone) which are ridiculously cheap on Amazon at the moment and provide a much better range of treble and bass. If it's the headphone remote control you're after then the HPM-82 is a far better (and cheaper) buy than this bluetooth version.

These are ok, they need getting used to, problems i first encountered were that the left headphone keeps on falling out, the right headphon stays in, these are rubbish if ur always on the move, what i dnt understand is why they did not make the rubber part bigger so it goes around the ear all the way instead of half way, they are ok, the sound quality is good, but u need to get used to them.

Simply Amazing

These are quite simply amazing, awesome, magnificent. Superlatives fail to describe the quality of sound from these headphones. The digital, ai-enhanced, noise-canceling is utterly remarkable.

Before settling on these I had previously owned Sennheiser PXC 300's, and while they were also very good, leaving them on a plane left me with a need for replacements. I considered the BOSE QuietComfort 2 and 3, but after testing them, and encountering a wealth of negativity associated with them, I plumped for these Sony MDR-NC500D's.

I can't recommend these highly enough. Bass, mid-range, and high-end are flawless. The fit is extremely comfortable. I use these, mostly, at my desk with the AC plugged in, but there is a built-in battery with a 15-hour life, and a plug-in 2*AA caddy to extend this by another 12 hours or so. If you're out of power the headphones don't work at all, but this is not an issue for me.

If you're in the market for an upgrade, and have the budget, get a pair of these. You won't regret it for a moment, they really are that good.

Superb

I have just recieved these headphones today, so bear in mind that i have still to do a bit of breaking in, but boy these cans are the nuts.

I have a sony nwz-a818 and the sound quality is mindblowing, you can hear everything. Even on records that i have listened for years i am hearing new things.

The treble needs a bit of toeing in on the eq, as it can be a bit harsh at volume, but the mid and bass ranges are great (could be down to needing time to breaking the speakers in)

Appearance wise, they are a bit of bold statement and are not the most discrete of cans but when it sounds this good, who cares :)

If you own a a818 and areonly using the supplied earplugs, you are not fully appriciating what your unit can do, get some!

Really good

I cant believe how these cheap headphones can sound so good... not audiophile at all but fantastic quality for the gym. The bass is punchy and treble and mid range crystal clear.

Just received this item and it has been supplied with a US charger that cannot be used in the UK and a US guarantee card.

Save your money..

I love the hook headphones as I like to listen to my music whilsh remaining active. Obviously the sony hype drawn me into these, with the benefit of also being in-ear..

These things have never been so irritating. Both cables link to the left piece so you constantly feel this pulling on the left. There's an abundance of wire, then when you take off the extender, it's too short..

How do the rest come into play? They don't maintain their shape long enough to have any long-term fix on your ears and you have to kep having to take them out, adjust it, shove it in your ear etc. Ideally you should just be able to place thm in your ear and off you go, but these headphones are a chore in their own right. Look elsewhere..

Excellent case

Excellent piece of kit, highly recommended. Fits very well over mp3 player whilst allowing full access to the buttons needed for operation. Also easily removed if necessary. I should have bought this FIRST as it is far better than the leather case and sticky protector screen that I purchased before, that were rubbish (see other reviews for that)! This is the only case you need for your Sony mp3 player.
