good but was better
having had a mini sony world band travel radio for absolutely years (but sadly it couldnt survive further years of hard floors), I was absolutely and completely disappointed to find that the newest model ICF-SW12S no longer turns itslf off after a certain amount of time. I use it most as an aid to sleep. This results in my waking up at any time of the night , having gone to sleep with it playing, to still have it playing. worse still, it will even wake me up itself by still being on. I was relying on what had been one of my most useful gadgets, now I am at a loss to imagine why it has had one of its best features removed - a sore loss.44

Hmmm.....
The clock radio does the job, but I feel that, because when in bed my vision is in line with it sitting on the bedside table, I have to raise up on one elbow to look over the top to actually see the buttons! This is due to the shape of the top of the radio, i.e. it slightly rises up at the front. Maybe I am just too short??Slightly disappointed, though my previous clock radio was also a Sony, a company I would always recommend.

We like it
We like this radio. Our previous radio alarm is 27 years old and still working (recycled to childs room), so this one had a lot to live up to. It's easy to set up and the reception is very clear. We have no problem with the brightness of the display and think it is spot on.50

Great looking ipod alarm that sounds OK too
I bought one of these a few weeks ago from HMV and am now going to buy another one from Amazon for my daughters bedroom. They look great and are solidly built. They are an easy to use radio alarm clock and the speakers sound good with an ipod for the size of the system. Overall good value for money.51

There's a lot about this product that shines: there are four alarm settings with a handy weekday / weekend feature; great sound and easy to operate. A number of reviewers have mentioned the bright display and it's for this reason that I stop off to write this review en route to buying a replacement alarm clock on Amazon. Too bright, it's like sleeping beside an open fridge door (we've all been there). I suspect there are better buys out there. Close but no cigar.54

Flawed
Decent product but it has a ridiculous default volume setting for the alarm. I bought this for my kids bedrooms to help them wake up in the morning with their iPods. But the volume defaults to such a high level that it scared the life out of the kids in the morning and woke them up with a shock rather than gently. I contacted the manufacturer who looked into it and got back to me, but they confirmed the default volume on the alarm cannot be changed. Product returned.56

Good little radio
This does almost everything i wanted. However being small I intend to use it in bed when trying to get to sleep.Problem is it does not have a sleep function. I therefore wake to find it has been on for hours.
It would have been useful to know this in advance.
With this one reservation, I can say that I like the radio very much.
