Sony ICF-SW7600GR

This Radio is absolutly perfect for listening to shortwave transmissions as well as FM LW And AM. Also USB And LSB . Sensitive,very well made in Japan ,lots of useful features.... one of the best for a world band portable. Ability to receive trans Atlantic aircraft,radio hams weather stations, ships at sea , etc. If your new to HF or shortwave ,this radio is perfect although the instructions need to be read reasonably thoroughly. An ear to the world which you can take anywhere....Very pleased with this purchase. Would also recomend buying one of the yearly world band guides which will able you to get the most out of it.

Fabulus cool and stylish Alarm Clock Radio!

First of all, I have to say that I'm a bit of a 'fanatic' about Alarm Clock Radios. I'm almost a 'Collector', and I have more than I can ever possibly use or wear out, and so when I saw this really cool-looking dude from NAF NAF, I really wanted it. However, I am notorious for not always purchasing Items that I want when I first see them, (big mistake...) and then when they become 'unavailable' I'm so upset, because I don't usually settle for second-hand Items (unless they are truly 'vintage') and want them so badly, I'd probably give you my house for one! Thus was the case with this!

I used to see this available all over the Internet for around £25, and because I saw it so regularly popping up everywhere, had no feeling of great urgency in purchasing, but I have recently realised that in today's ever-changing world and throw-away society, products are rarely produced for more than one batch/season of sales - whatever the demand from the public, and so really should be snapped up without hesitation to avoid future disappointment. Having decided later I wanted one of these, I searched and searched the Internet, and apart from not being able to find hardly anyone who still sold it only a few months later, the one or two Sites who were still offering it (Pixmania being one) were unable to supply it having placed my order. Consequently, it became a mission and such an obsession to obtain one, that I did not give up! I finally managed to obtain one from a fabulous company who supplied them brand new in France who were so dreadfully kind (they did not normally ship to the UK but had made an exception) who, although did not have any staff members who could converse with me in English, managed to take my order by my use of only school-room French! I had to pay around £45 - £50 for it, and I got the red/black model. I was SO delighted! Now to the Radio itself:

This is, as can be seen from the photo, a VERY attractive Radio indeed! I don't think it will ever look out of place during the change in times or fashion, and so from that point of view, it will always be popular and in use. The LED screen has a backlight on mine that is permanently lit and is a lovely blue. (though the brightness can be adjusted) I am not sure from the picture if this is still a feature now. It has a great set of Alarm functions and wakes you 'gently' from sleep, and is one of the easiest Radios to operate and to set that I've ever come across - and so you've no worries there! The mains lead on mine had only a two-pin plug (like the one you find on an electric shaver) but this may have been due to mine being purchased from abroad - but it was the same UK voltage, and I simply used a two-pin adapter used for shavers to plug it into the mains.

The only thing in the slightest 'negative' I could possibly find to say about this, was that the quality of the sound is nothing outstanding, or what one might have expected from such a large and good-looking Radio. I mean, I've got loads of even battery Radios that sound either as good, or perhaps even a little better, but hey, after my search, who cares! I would never part with mine, and I've no idea how long Amazon are likely to have this up and available and at such a wickedly low price! I would snap one up whilst you can, or you may be disappointed! I could not find one of these new or used, even on eBay when I wanted one - and let's face it; everything turns up on there - but not this for some reason, and so I guess that these were made in such small quantities, and that those who'd already bought them certainly weren't selling!

Light up your life...

There's a lot about this product that shines: there are four alarm settings with a handy weekday / weekend feature; great sound and easy to operate. A number of reviewers have mentioned the bright display and it's for this reason that I stop off to write this review en route to buying a replacement alarm clock on Amazon. Too bright, it's like sleeping beside an open fridge door (we've all been there). I suspect there are better buys out there. Close but no cigar.

Review of Sony CFDS01CD Radio Recorder

The Recorder works quite well. My only criticism is that there is insufficient bass. There is a MEGA BASS button but I do not think that there is any increase in bass when this facility is activated.

1st impressions good

I was frustrated at total lack of reviews on Interweb before buying this item, so here are a few first impressions:
- Green colour brighter and more metallic than in picture. I still like it.
- Aerial only goes 11 inches straight up. Feels a bit fragile. Will need care. FM reception of Radio 4 good. Did not need to move radio much to get good reception here at least.
- Sound is good for size of device. Not sparkling but more than good enough for my kitchen.
- Takes 8 'C' cell batteries. Battery life not known yet.
- Design. Overall compact and stable. Cradles iPod securely. Comes with interchangeable adapters for different types of iPod. Suprisingly deep (front to back) at base. Very stable with rubber feet.
- Aux Out and Line In. Also Video Out to play video from iPod. I have no interest in this.
- Nice big dials at either side for tuning and volume.
- Overall I'm pleased with it. Just hope battery life is respectable as 8 'c' cells are going to cost a bit.

Very poor useability design - prepare to be dazzled

This is a radio alarm clock, therefore presumably intended to go next to your bed. So it's rather alarming (no pun intended) that the coloured LED that indicates the weather condition is bright enough to read by, and you can't switch it off. Likewise even the dim setting of the backlight (so that you can actually see the clock at night) lights up the room - so you either see the clock and the rest of the room, or guess the time at night.

The radio is fine, the dual alarms are great, the weather thing is a handy extra as to whether to grab a brolly or not - but it's useless next to your bed unless you wear a blindfold, or cover it in insulation tape as I have. Overall it's an appallingly thought out design that you don't expect from Philips and I certainly wouldn't recommend it..

This was a present for my husband and they sent me a continetial one with a transformer and a two pin plug was a dissapiontment for myself and my husband

Lego Boom Box

I was so excited to get this item for my 7 year old son. As we live abroad, I had it sent to my mums home and waited until we came over for a visit.

Unbelievably it arrived not working! The radio was ok, but the CD player and the LED were simply dead.

One very unhappy child and no hope of buying the product at home, and I would say Great Design, Rubbish Product! Lego Boombox Stereo CD Player - Blue

Interference all the time

I was given this Sony ICF-C205 clock radio as a birthday present 4 months ago to replace my old one and since I have had it I cannot say there has been one day without interference, crackling, high pitched whine etc. I only have to walk around the bedroom and the sound varies from good to terrible.If someone is having a shower and the combi boiler starts up there is continual interference. If I catch hold of the trailing arial wire the reception is great. I have wound the wire around a table lamp but still reception is variable. Sit next to it and it's OK, move a few feet and interference is back again. A great pity as the display is good and the controls easy to use.

Love it love it love it!!!

The new Intempo Phono iPhone Speaker Dock is fantastic. The design, sound and quality of the product are amazing, I have never had a dock which sounds so good. It offers something for everyone and I would HIGHLY recommend it to all iPhone owners. The product is very sexy looking and due to it being so small you can move it to any room in the house with such ease. 10 out 10 from me, would definitely buy an Intempo product again.

Clock Radio

The clock radio keeps time well, but I cannot understand the weather it's supposed to forecast. It has colours for different weather and it doesn't seem to get it right. For instance today is raining but it is showing sunshine!! If there is anyone out there who knows how it's supposed to work, let me know! So I can't understand it!! The item is Philips AJ210/05 Weather Clock Radio. I did buy it second hand!!!!

arghhh the hum!!

in theory this ipod alarm clock would be awesome, but its sole responsibility in life is to sit right by where you sleep and to be quiet. but there is an audible hum that just drives you mad!! great to charge the ipod/phone at night, great to have two seperate alarms, but the hum defeats all purpose!! sort it out Goodmans!!
