not for Mac users...

Having bought this product almost 9 months ago I thought it was good value, and would genuinely help me get those notes down that just seem to escape my hearing during lectures. And it did to an extent. Larger lecture halls seemed to be a problem, and using the high quality recording picked up more sounds from my classmates shuffling their notes than desired. But I kept up with my trusty little dictaphone, despite its eating up of batteries, its poor selectivity of what to record, and its lack of plug and play.


Until I bought myself a macbook. Filled up its memory with lectures I'd recorded and needed to listen to. Read the CD for Digital Voice Editor and its minimum requirements. And realised that it wouldn't work on my brand new lovely macbook. That was the last straw. Not being compatible with mac OS is worthy of ridicule.

Great audio recorder

This great little recorder does all I want and more. The controls took a bit of practice to operate, especially with my stubby fingers, but now I find it very easy to use. I cannot fault the audio quality, even from the built-in microphone and the reproduction of music is excellent especially when amplified. It stores all my music programmes ready to play anywhere. The software isn't perfect, but suits all my needs. Great, no more need for a cassette recorder. I strongly recommend it.

Never have I been so ripped off

This unit will only take a memory stick to a MAXIMUM of 128mb. You can't even BUY a memory stick that small.

I found out you have the option to purchase a rechargeable AAA battery, (not supplied) the benefit here is that once connected to the USB port on your laptop, it charges the product directly.

Best value for money digital recorder I have seen. It's light weight makes it easy to carry around, and the sound quality is all you could ask for. It is also robust enough to survive less than delicate handling. However, this is not an instrument for those with large or clumsy fingers: the buttons, especially the erase button, are recessed and not particularly easy to use. I bought my Icd-B300 from Amazon well over a year ago, and battery life is so impressive that I have not yet seen the need to buy rechargeables. The fact that it still features on this site must be a credit to its performance.

Very good for the money - 256mb memory not 64mb

Well firstly I must point out that Amazon have incorrectly listed this item as only having 64mb of memory - In actual fact it has 256mb of memory.

The max recording times in LP mode is 130 hours & 25 minutes or 29 hours & 45 minutes in HQ mode. The voice recorder works perfectly and the desktop software supplied is more than up to the job.

You can convert voice recording to MP3 files at the touch of a button or automatically should wish to share the files with others which is a nice feature. The unit is also certified for use with Dragon Naturally Speaking, which is helpful.

FM Radio works very well, overall a nice set of features for the money, but the build quality isn't perfect, as the back feels a little tacky and cheap, but considering the price and capabilities it's well worth every penny.

IT HELPED A LOT DURING THE FIRST MONTH I BOUGHT IT. IT CAN PLAY MP3 AS WELL. BUT I'VE NO IDEA HOW TO LISTEN TO WMA FILES RIGHT NOW. EASY TO RECORD ALTHOUGH THE QUALITY IS NOT SO HIGH.
