The product is easy to use and the set up was very easy. The top volume may be a bit low for some. If you need to charge the battery without having a lap top then you will have to buy a separate charger - and the one from Sony isn't cheap

It's ok but it's not enough...

As previous people have mentioned, I thought the low volume was a slight over-reaction but I have noticed it is too low. Listening to this on the bus is a waste of time. I only bought this as my previous Sony series walkman is on it's way out and the volume on that was great. Only good thing I can say about this one is that it's easy to navigate, but cannot create playlists on this as I could with my previous one. Can't believe I'm gonna say this but it looks like it's time to look for an mp3 player outside of Sony (which I NEVER thought I'd do). Also see future Sony models have this same problem so it's time to check out Cowon.

Cassette Radio

All in all not a bad product at all for the price. Radio -FM- can be heard on buses/trains although signal can wander at times -it generally can be picked up. Good battery life with one AA - I use rechargeables. Since I have plenty of cassettes and this with the preset radio options make this a more versatile tool than my Ipod.

Rubbish!

Ever since I got this product I have had nothing but problems with it. It was good at first but the copying of data files just stopped after a couple of months and when I got it repaired under the warranty the same problem re-appeared. My partner's got the same player and the data transfer works with his one, so there is definitely a problem with mine, but the repair centre and service cannot seem to find the problem or offer me an alternative.
I have a lot of sony products but their repair service let's them down big time. I am unlikely to use sony again for that reason.

Good even after a wash.

This is great for what I need it for - at the gym and pootling about. Volume is good enough with the bass function activated. Works with the pc very easily. It's been through a complete washing machine cycle and spin dry, and still works just the same. Very good value.

Impressed by the noise cancellation

I had a Sony MP3 player before and, being impressed by the sound quality on that, decided to upgrade to the X-series. I was instantly taken by the noise cancellation. I've used the noise-cancellation facility on buses, trains, planes (including for the in-flight movie via the provided connector) and in the office (basically everywhere it has a preset for) and it really is a far superior listening experience in those environments. Subtle classical music? No problem, Debussy all the way to work and back!

I could go on but I'm sure other reviewers have said it all already. For me the winners are the sound quality, video quality, button access, file organisation, noise cancellation, headphones and build-quality. Oh, and I quite like the YouTube application and podcast access too. The not-so-bothered-abouts are the browser and the non-existent video-conversion and mediocre file-handling capabilities of the provided software. I don't use the photo album facility. Anyway, the pluses are so good that, for me, they cancel out the minuses. Had mine 7 months and I'm very happy with it.

Sony Walkman

This product is crying out for a more practical carrying case. It is however a first rate Sony product and I am now very much in my wife's good books.
Good delivery. Sony have never let me down.

a billiant little player good sound, picture. but it broke down after a month so i sent it back waiting for another one

sony WNEX194L

I really like this walkman. It looks smart. But the only thing is it feels very plasticy and cheap. If you bought it as a present the person would think you hadn't spent much. But I really like it and it has a good tone to it.

Good gear

Nice piece of kit. Records well and is also discreet, because of its size, in doing so.

Playback quality of MP3s is nice too. Like this v much and rate it highly. Only giving it four stars as I don't know what five stars would mean.

Nice little MP3

There was no way i was going to get another Creative Mp3 player after the TWO previous ones all died after the warranty was up, coincidence? Hmm.. So I went looking for a different manufacturer, one that was not Creative (boo-hiss) or I-pod (over-priced). Back in the day I had a Sony Walkman Cassette player, remember? Loved it so I decided to have a look see at what Sony could offer me.

Love it, it is so thin, yet carries a mighty 8gb no trouble. Easy to use, easy to transfer with the ol' drag and drop.

One quibble I do have is it is annoyingly easy to turn the ruddy thing on without noticing. Plus I think that Sony were being mean when they did not include a mains charger with the kit.

Other than that, I like it. I bought the silver one, although it is also orange. The Pink was a tad girly.

Reasonably priced, effective little MP3. Get one, Sony quality and not poncy.

Great for iPlayer

I have had this Walkman for a couple of months now and it has suited my needs. I chose this unit based on previous reviews and knowledge of Sony products. I mainly use it for watching iPlayer - it helps to ease the boredom at the gym! The download procedure could not be easier (select"portable devices" under More Downloads, save to desktop then drop & drag into Sony Content Transfer window which automatically opens when you connect the player to the computer - simples!). The picture quality is fantastic. I would have liked a bookmark facility though as you can only return to where you left off in a programme if you have not used another feature in the meantime - this can be frustrating. I use"in ear" headphones and have no issues with volume or quality of sound. For music, the sync facility with Media Player works a treat and also takes the album art across to the Walkman which it doesn't seem to do using simple drop and drag. The picture viewer is also very good. I have not used the radio or record facilities so cannot comment on them. The NWZS544B suits my purpose very well and is a product I would recommend.

Fantastic.

I received this player yesterday and it really is a great piece of kit. The sound is the best ive ever heard, the earphones are really comfortable and the video is of excellent quality (once I figured out how to put them on). Ive been deciding which player to get to replace my 4 year old 1 gb iriver for months and finally went for this one and could not be happier. I definitely recommend.

For anyone having problems getting video on you should get"Prism Video Converter", its free, convert videos to mp4 and make sure that you change the size of them to 320 x 240 in the edit output box and they will work.

all the flexibility of a tape player

I knew in advance that you can't create and save playlists on the machine itself, but I didn't realise that meant you're stuck with one choice in the 'now playing' list too!

You can only add the complete contents of one album/folder to the 'now playing' list. That means I can no longer choose to queue four tracks from one album followed by one from another while I'm walking along. Either I'd have to wait for each track to finish, then scrabble about picking the next... or have had the foresight to have created exactly those tracks in that order as a playlist, in advance, on the computer. AAAAAARRRRGGGHHH!

Otherwise it is fine: sounds very good for an mp3, easy to get the hang of... but I'm so frustrated by this little problem I'm looking to ditch it as soon as possible.

I am in love

I love this, I just love it. It is really easy to use, looks lovely, sounds great and has made me very happy.

I can't pass judgement on any of the technical aspects. I was just looking for something cheap, simple and fit for purpose ... and this fits the bill.

Sony USB Cable for Walkman.

Quality Item but very expensive. I lent my original cable to a friend and never saw it again and thought a replacement woult be just a few quid but was shocked at the actual price. Unfortunately a must have otherwise the Walkman is useless without it.

SONY DNE-700

My boyfriend bought me this about 6 months ago to keep me away from his CD player and now I can't get near it as he's always on it!

The battery life is just excellent and I've had no problems with the set-up or usage of the player. As other reviewers have said, the inline remote is a little fiddly, but once you get used it it, it is ok. The CD player itself is light and surprisingly compact, it fits into my pocket in my jeans with no problem.

The reason that this didn't get 5 stars is the ATRAC software. I had no problems with it until I had to reinstall my computer and so had to reinstall the ATRAC software. After this it just wouldn't work. After many hours on forums and trawling the web, I found that you can go onto the Sony website and download sonicstage 3.1 (the sonicstage I received with the walkman was 2.0) This took about 3 hours to download (but I do have a slow internet connection), but it installed itself and uninstalled the old Sonicstage software. It's now (touch-wood) working fine and I have no problem with the speed of actually importing and creating a ATRAC CD. I did a rough CD at first at 64 bit rate and have over 250 songs on 1 CD, and I cannot hear a difference in sound quality.

All in all, once you get the ATRAC software sorted a fab little walkman. Recommended.

Sony Walkman NWZ-B133FB mp3 player

Brilliant! Even I can work it! It's easy to operate with a clear and easy to read screen. The FM radio is really good although not for long with digital coming. I didn't like the earphones; I think my ears are quite small and they didn't fit well and were uncomfortable or fell out. However, another pair of earphones later and I'm happily enjoying a world of sound.
