Compact Quality Camcorder - Excellent Price on Amazon

With two toddlers I just wanted a compact camcorder that is easy to use, well made with a quality picture. This is my first camcorder and I am delighted with it. I have used it on a number of day trips now and have found it to be ideal for quickly capturing those amusing incidents. As a real bonus, when in fully automatic"easy" mode to get filming you simply have to open up the viewing screen, open the lens (it will remind you) and press record - no longer than about 5 seconds. Excellent! It also has a powerful 60 X Zoom which is easily controlled with your forefinger and the 60 GB Hard Drive means you do not have to worry about memory cards.

The only reason that I have not given it 5 stars is that SONY only provide it with a 90 min battery which could be limiting if you are away from a power source. I bought in addition the SONY NP-FH50 battery (145 min) (from Amazon NOT SONY!!) and carry both in the Lowepro Clips 100 Camcorder Case which I also bought online for less than £10 inc P&P. The Camcorder Case can easily fit all leads for downloading and TV viewing as well as the adaptor for recharging and enables the camcorder to fit snugly at the top.

In summary - I am delighted with this lightweight quality piece of kit which is easy to use. Recommended!!

RADIO ADD ON

Living in an area of fairly poor FM or DAB reception, makes personal radio listening rather annoying, facing signal break up or drop out, but with this MP3 player aided by my DAB radio with SD card,I can now record programmes, such as womans hour, and transfer them to my wifes MP3 player, keeping her entertained for hours whilst performing housold chores in relative happiness!

super mp3

I purchased this on recomendation from my brother as i was bored of my old mp3 and wanted something with more space and a screen, it was very easy to set up, looks gorgeous and copies all of your songs and photos onto iself for you. The sound quality is really really good and so is the battery life the only reason i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because my boyfriend has one with built in speakers which is handy when having a bath and i'm jealous lol.
but overall i love it and would reccomend it to anyone

The accessories are a bit limited unless you pay through the nose.Even Sony are making speaker docks that fit ipod and not walkmans. I would recommend the external mains power adapter for recharging (especially useful on holiday) The i player downloads are very good and easy. Overall very pleased with this kit.

Sony MP3

This mp3 is good, but the only problem is that when you use the wireless headphones you have to keep the mp3 out, so you cant use those headphones when the mp3 is in your pocket because the bluetooth signal is disturbed. Other than that, it is a good mp3.

Mind the gaps

Got this player cos my 8gig A808 walkman was suffering from old age battery, and my music collection no longer fit. Sounds great apart from now Sony have ditched sonic stage the player no longer supports gapless playback. Hence my live, mixed and Pink Floyd albums have to be massaged through another piece of software to prevent clicks and gaps between tracks

Perfect for technophobes!!

As a novice to gadgets like these, especially where connecting to a PC is involved, I found this one. Perfect, easy to use, great instructions. Best gadget I have bought, great for first timers like myself!!! Well worth it.

Walkman

This product has proved its worth. My husband (who is blind) dropped the walkman on a concrete floor and it still works perfectly. It is very easy to use as well.

Sony car stereo cassette adaptor for iPod

If you have a car which has a cassette player function and an Ipod with a stereo out jack this is the in car adaptor for you. You can spend loads of money on fancy ipod adapters which you can tune your radio into which sounds cool but more often than not the sound quality will be poor. With this you get as near perfect sound as your gonna get from an ipod, by simply connecting the jack coming from the cassette into your ipod headphone socket and putting the cassette into your cassette player. YOUR CAR CASSETTE PLAYER MUST TAKE CASSETTES LENGTHWAYS (THE SHORT SIDE GOING INTO THE PLAYER) DUE TO THE WAY THAT THE CABLE COMES OUT OF IT)
Theres nothing else to say really other than it does exactly what its supposed to do and there is very little if any tape noise from the unit whilst it is going round.

worked a day, then wouldnt turn on, (even though it had full charge when it was turned off)tried charging on my PC, but insides were frazzled or something, as it was not recognised, no images on the screen, no nothing.
was a good little player, but what use is a dead MP3, a door stop maybe?
sending it back as it is well in the 1 month send back date!

A quick non tech review, plenty of those splattered all over the net, plus I am not that much of a techy anyway, I use the laptop for word processing, internet surfing, watching films, editing and storing pictures and family videos

I bought this laptop purely based on ergonomics. The other competitors in the 16.5 inch bracket were too dam ugly/businessy/pasticy to contemplate. I have to admit that when closed, the blue/grey plastic back is not much to look at, but once you open the lid, the view changes considerably. The magnesium curvy chassis is very pleasant and well designed, I personally find it nicer than the Mac equivalent. The"scrabble style" keyboard is nicely laid out and it is a joy to use. The screen is very bright, colours are vibrant and clear. The odd 16.4 inch size works wonderfully well. Hardware wise, it is very well equipped and dealt with every task without breaking a sweat, Vista is a a pain to use, I installed Windows7 Beta and frankly it transformed this machine into something twice as good!
The mack-book pro is twice as expensive but nowhere near twice as good when it comes to everyday tasks. This is a very well specced and well priced laptop. Unless you're into heavy gaming, this is probably the best laptop you can get at present.

What you would expect from Sony

the sound is brilliant.
very compact so easy to fit into the small pockets.
storage space is just what i needed,
screen size may not compete with other similar products, but that is not important in my life, sound quality and value for money is.

Lovely new toy

Great new Walkman. I had an old one that was a clunky unreliable dinosaur in comparison. It navigates well, the sound is clear and rich. The storage capacity is impressive

The software remains appalling. I have abandoned it in favour of Windows Media Player. There is also no function for creating playlists as you listen any more, which is a shame.

Overall, very happy with it.

Great Cam Poor Software

Not sure what the previous buyer was on about,I tend to not agree on a few points.

The editing software is not up to the job at all, but that is no problem there is lots of software on the market that can edit AVCHD.

I am just back from 3 weeks in Florida and used the HandyCam every day,and found the feature that takes pics when you smile a bonus and very good quality.

The HandyCam is a joy to carry,and on full HD will give you about 30 Hours of recording time,and high 70 mins battery life with the supplied NPFH 60 battery.

I was looking at buying the 520VE but to be honest for an extra £300 i think it isn't worth it.

The sound is superb with Dolby 5.1 as standard

Anyhow i think the best thing is to view the videos i shot on Youtube that may help you decide, type in mrj2k8 that is my username and check out the tests i have of the camcorder in action

Sony HDR-XR520VE

I bought this camcoder few days ago and i'm still fascinated about amazing picture quality on my samsung full HD tv and great 5.1 sound. Low condition shots are good, nightshots as well. Battery is just for 1h - 1,5h of working so you must buy more powerfull battery. It's an expensive camcoder and sony should put into a box mini hdmi cable and external charger but it's a still very good purchase.

A great way to free your music and more

Sony have created an excellent product here. On buying an MP3 player you would expect the player to be of a high standard and that the headphones supplied would just be an afterthought but the headphones supplied are of great quality, both the in ear wired and bluetooth ones. I was pleasantly surprised with the bluetooth headphone, they manage to produce a nice clear sound with plenty of bass and treble. And with the various equaliser settings it is easy to get the level that suits the listener. They are also more than just headphones for the Walkman, they can be paired to many other devices including a bluetooth enabled mobile phone so can be used as a hands free device which when paired to both Walkman and phone will pause the music or video and take the call with you able to resume from where u left off afterwards. They can be connected to your computer and used with skype, or instead of normal headphones. And can also be used with your PS3 for voice and video chat. The headphones do seem a little flimsy at first but don't let that fool you as mine have been folded up packed in various bags and come out unscathed. The remote controls on the headphones are also simple and easy to use.

For the Walkman itself it has a very intuitive menu that is easy to navigate that even your ipod using friends will be able to use to easily browse your music, video and picture collections. Another great feature is the drag and drop style of adding content to your player, again just so easy and intuitive to use. I use mine with napster and have to say that the combination is great. It has really helped me to find new and different music and sample songs and artists i might have shied away from. It also connects to a PS3 allowing for the transfer of music through that. It can also connect to other bluetooth devices such as in car stereos and hifi's.

The video quality that this walkman can produce is also fantastic, making it easy and enjoyable to watch your favourite shows or content on a train or alike to help pass the time of those long journeys which with the battery life is great not having to worry about it dying on you. And with the adjustable brightness is easy to see in high light conditions.

So for around £100 it would make an excellent purchase, if your worried about space then if your one who constantly adds music it is easy to delete music aswell or for a little extra the higher capacity 8gb version may be the one for you.
