What a load of rubbish
The main reason I got this was to use it as a recorder - It records ok from a computer - but, I consider this piece of junk is not fit for purpose, because you CANNOT attach a microphone to it. Yet the instructions say you can (Sony say you cant) So what is the point of being a recorder? This, therefore, renders it useless! a cheap MP3 player will suffice, also less demanding on batteries and probably less bulky too.You do not get much in the way of useful accessories with this product - like a mains adaptor - this is something else to pay for!

Ford Focus Sony player - check before ordering
We have a Ford Focus with a Ford/Sony radio in it, and this device will not work as there is not a suitable connector on the back of the radio. So before buying this device it,s worth just popping the radio out and checking.CarAduioSecurity were good enough to accept that the device would not be suitable with this radio and adviced me to reject the delivery and they refunded half the p&p.

Excellent mp3 player!!
Did a lot of research on mp3 players. Bought the creative Zen to begin with but kept crashing. Got the sony and I couldnt believe the difference. Excellent sound. So easy to use ( using windows media player or windows explorer). would recomend this product to anyone loking for a good value for money mp3 player.30

im happy with it. the minor points are - left 'ctrl' key is v. dodge, battery life is poor (although the new t8100 would improve things), the screen is a little heavy, there is no remote control and the laptop itself feels delicate and would definately break if i dopped it, its also expensive.
its fairly quiet (sounds like a vacuum cleaner in the very far distance), looks sleek and tidy, is quite light and has a bright screen. the speakers are average, touchpad is good and the computer runs smoothly.
the sony is a good choice and im pleased with mine. 4 me it was between sony, hp and dell. the blu-ray clinched the deal.

a good laptop

Fantastic piece of kit
This is probably the best mini music player i've ever brought, its a fantastic little piece of kit+ Fantastic Sony sound quality with plenty of ways to adjust sound output
+ Amazing long battery life, 33hours with 3hours charge

Excellent, Its a sony
I have used this product and find it excellent for use in a car that doesn't have the in-built cd player. Hey...not only cars, you may use it with any of the music systems, just insert the cassette, attach the wire to the output jack and the you are ready for a musical drive, if you have a discman this is a product you need to make it worth...hope you enjoy the music. Not to forget the quality.. its a SONY..34

Never owned an MP3 player before - really really pleased with this one, especially the sound quality. It does say that it can hold over 600 tracks but at the highest sound quality it is more in the 220 field.One slight quibble is the fiddly nature of the fast forward and rewind button. No watertight sport MP3 player
I bought yet another Sony as my old MP3 player of 2001 was lasting forever. The only reason I bought this one, was because the old ones battery does not charge anylonger. Having this new 'one piece' aluminium casing MP3 player, I thought it would REALY last long as it should be durable. Well I am totally dissapointed as after 8 monts, water was getting in (sweat), the display went loose and the controls struggled to work properly. I am somone who look well after my things, but this product was really just plain bad quality. Sony what are you doing?36

Overall, I find em quite good. as i have 1gb X no of minidiscs of storage thats portable,and a audio player with a long batterylife!

I love it!
This Sony walkman is fantastic! I have owned an iPod, which broke after a year, and also a Creative:Vision M - that died after 9 months. The Sony Walkman is far superior to either of these. The sound quality is great, I especially like the different sound settings. It looks really attractive, the pink colour is really cute, plus it's really thin so it will fit in your jeans pocket easily. Sometimes pink things can look vile when you get them in your hand, but it's not the case for the Walkman. The memory is good for what I need it for - it can actually hold more songs than I previously thought. The battery life is also good - I use it loads travelling to and from university and it only really needs charging once a week. The headphones that came with it were a bit weird so I'm using it with some JVC ones and the sound quality is still good. The battery does take quite a while to charge. The controls are user friendly and if you don't want an iPod but are looking for a good mp3 player, I'd say buy this!39

iPod headset
A good bit of kit. I had a Sony set already but was fed up with the Aux lead getting in the way - I have a high mounting in the dashboard. Bought this as it has a dedicated iPod lead and am very happy. The sound and features are as good as you wouldexpect from a Sony product. The iPod management system takes a bit of getting used to, but is easy once you are familiar with the controls. the odd thing is the normal screen in the iPod is replaced and youdon't get the usual visuals. It is easier to push the buttons on the headset than it is to scroll whilst driving - but I imagine that any passengers wanting to search the iPod will be frustrated - well just unplug, select and reconnect...
